Yep.  Windows Movie Maker said the avi would be 6.2 gigs... encoded it, the quality was worse than the 1.4 gig .wmv file... who knows :P

What struck me most the first time I fired the beta up, is how everything loaded up instantly and looked frikkin amazing. All the details and the special stuff put in (Like those pink glowing trees near the starter zone).

Yea, I has almost 0 second loading time.  I would actually bind to a town, click "return home" and it would load my binding area in less than 1 second... its pretty awesome...  :O

Yeah, I can't get over it either. After I made my character and hit enter, virtually no wait time. No load times from any zone/loading screens, either. The engine, or what they did with it, and how the game runs is pretty impressive.

The feature that turns down your graphics automatically seems like a great feature, too. Not sure how well it works, but good feature.

The engine is great, especially this heavily modified version of it.

Crysis on the other hand, was just optimized poorly. Hardly the engines fault, especially when this game shows how good the performance can be while still looking pretty stunning.

Praising the engine, that makes sense. The engine is great, at least however the modified it for Aion is. Praising Crysis for performance, hehe, that's another story completely.

Never praised the engine, just pointed out thats why its running good because they actually optimized it for this game... crysis was good, but hated playing since I couldnt get over 40fps maxed out (using dx10)

You got higher than I did on this rig, haha. I really wanna see more games use this engine, MMOs in particular.

Aion uses a heavily modified version of the CryEngine, which is used in the Farcry games.  Crysis uses CryEngine2 which is much more system intense than its predecessor.
