Is Aion one of those games where leveling pretty much sucks and it's all about end game play or is there more depth to it than that.
Sorry, just tired of leveling Alts in wow.... |

Once you hit about level 10, you get wings. Basically it just gives you a more different approach to questing. You are still questing to hit endgame however, with occasional PvP after lvl20-25+ |

Perhaps some of the folks that have been playing the Chinese or Korean versions might be able to provide some better information. From my perspective, it looks like it's going to have similar things to do as you find in other theme-park style MMOs. If you enjoy the jouney to level-cap in a game like that, then it'll probably have something to hold your interest. But, if I had to guess, most of the good stuff is probably going to happen at endgame (or more accurately, you're going to have to be at level-cap to compete and really enjoy the game).. |

I thought what I'd do is I'd pretend I was one of those Deaf-mutes. |
From what I've gathered from the patch 1.5 notes... They seem to really want to add in instances in high level content, most of the new stuff is at level 50. The game already has a really solid leveling method with some instances in mid level range and a lot of quests to do. It doesn't suddenly stop having quests half way through or anything of that nature. I do kinda wish they'd add in more low to mid level instances, however if their goal is to flesh out the endgame and they feel that the rest of their game is already good enough for now then... I'd probably agree. It feels really polished. |

Polished isn't the same as fun. They could make it funner by adding in instances and stuff to lower levels to break up the quests. |

Polished can contribute to fun. I agree they could do this, however they have a limited amount of things they can do with their development team, I'd much prefer them balancing their PVP and working to flesh out endgame than working on the low game and mid game stuff that is already proven to work quite well. I mean of all the people already playing this no one has mentioned a flaw in the leveling that is game breaking, i've neve heard someone say "you know Im' really tired of these quests" on any of the vents I've been on. I dunno it just seems to me that their time (For now) would be best spent working on what the game is sorely lacking. (Endgame) Sure maybe the next expantion could have a whole new leveling zone for each side or even adding in races or classes, but I dunno for right now I think they're right on track. |

It pretty much is now since they nerfed PVP all to hell because the damn carebears have to always get their way. Aion was supose to have meaningful Non consentual PVP there was suppose to be risk even outside of the abyss, but now with the retarded slayer system you get punsihed for even trying to PVP outside of the abyss. Carebears suck they ruin every game.

All these people complaining about Aion being "carebear" just make me laugh. How about massive battles for strategic points artifacts and keeps in the Abyss? Also, there are a number of boss mobs in the Abyss. I had the pleasure of joining up with a Chinese legion to kill a couple. They're in an open area and any player and/or legion from the opposite faction (we were Elyos) could do their best to make the attempt fail. It was all rather exciting -- picture a tuned force setting up and pulling to kill a rather nasty monster, when over the ridge a flying raid force appears, nukes and arrows flying. Hunting on your own or in groups in the Abyss (which is a 3-tiered, rather large area) requires flying and you're always open to attack. Both the mobs and enemy players give "Abyss points" which can be used toward some pretty sweet armor. As far as lower areas, random rifts can appear which allow enemy players to enter the areas for both "infiltration" quests and pvp if they choose. Although you cannot loot someone you kill, there is an experience loss death penalty. A Soul Healer will give quite a bit of that experience back, but not all. Honestly I'm a bit wary of it once release comes, but it has been enjoyable in the Chinese release so far. I'm not a huge pvp person but it has certainly made me keep on my toes. Luckily I will have several friends to play with in release. People may be burnt out on mmos in general or not like Aion for other reason of their own. That's fine, it's not for everyone. If you must, call me a fangrrl. Mirrim |

While they aren't instances the main quest line turns group based around level 17/18. I had a lot of fun running parties through these outdoor areas and it was a good challenge.

Not everyone likes grouping, some people just solo to 50 and stop, that's their choice. Like I stated before, some single or group instances, a bit like LotRO or AoC's destiny quests, would be neat. I know there are a few, but they last what? 5-10 minutes at the most?
BTW: How the heck is your SpeedTest download so freaking fast? |
