Fury News - Fury Expansion Announced

Auran has announced Age of the Chosen, the first free content expansion for Fury, and they have launched a mini site with more expansion details. Age of the Chosen will go live on December 14th.
Auran Games today announced details of the first Free Content Update to its fast-paced arena combat game FURY. The huge new add-on, titled 'Age of the Chosen', is expected to go live on the FURY servers on December 14th 2007.

This free content update is available to all players and brings many improvements and enhancements, as well as introducing additional game types and maps to the world of FURY.
Auran CEO, Tony Hilliam, explains: “We set out with the goal of making FURY fast and fun for all players. The Age of the Chosen add-on focuses on helping new players prepare for the furious action as well as introducing a host of features requested by our hardcore fans. Feedback from new players was that the pacing was too fast and confusing. To remedy this and help players grow into the game, we created the 'Carnage' game type. Carnage pits two teams of four players in indirect competition where the focus is killing bots to earn points rather than simply smashing your opponents into submission. We've also improved the tutorial and created practice areas where players can spend time getting used to FURY’s uniquely fast paced combat.”

So due to inadequate matchmaking and turning new players off to your game you add PvE content. Sounds like a real solution to your problems. Yes, there was a bit of sarcasm in that.
It sounds good to me. Maybe if they add enough PvE content they can actually convince a few people to play their game. PvE FTW! :P
They're adding some bots to 1 new gametype (Carnage) and some bots to train (as in practice) with.
Thats all the PvE you gonna get. But at least you PvE'ers can practice your stuff on bots now before being thrown to the vets.

I am really excited by this expansion update.it is refreshing to see a developer listen and make c hanges to improve things.
I am not playin much at the moment but definately be back on the 12/14 - christmas should be a pvp blast :D

Odd.. I would have thought that this game would have been a hit since most posts I've been reading have been screaming up and down "Does it have good PvP?". Maybe this is a sign that PvP doesn't rule the roost in MMO's as many would like to think otherwise.
Just a thought.
Or maybe not. I think it depends largely on the quality of the game. Unfortunately, Fury was released unfinished and buggy.
what gets me about some of these games is they use the "free expansion" thing as marketing ploy. seriously, they get rid of the term patch/update and call it an expansion. a free one at that, mean while the content they are adding should of been in the game when released...oh well..
Fury has only been officially released for under 2 months.
In that time they have made some sweeping changes based on feedback of their playerbase.
This shows Auran have the balls to go all out to please their playerbase and they have not let me down yet regarding fixing issues that need attention the most.
Sure they should have done this, should have had that before release yadda yadda.
Reality doesn't always work like that and most new MMOS are pushed out early unless they have some major bucks behind them.
