Okay, so i've just downloaded the game and when im attacking people all i seem to be able to do is use skills. Is there no way of JUST attacking them normally, like whacking them with a sword rather than sending fire shooting at them from the tip of your blade.

Sounds like you're using ranged charge building attacks. What archetype did you start off with?
Every archetype has acces to 'normal' moves but what those moves do also depend on your currently equipped weapon.
If you have a 2 Hander (Overlord), you can do moves like Shatter or Dual Strike. If you Dual Wield (Destroyer) theres Rampage Of The Flamelord.
The best moves such as the 2 above will require you to have built some charges before you can use them. You build charges by using the skills that generate charges instead of consuming them. These do less damage but are meant to be for charge building. As I said before, theres ranged charge builders and melee charge builders. Ranged charge builders may seem a bit weird to you at first if you are a melee character but how else do you plan to build charges whilst your target is running away? |

You may have chosen a ranged build like an Invoker (love them btw lol) I suggest if you prefer a more melee try either a destroyer, warden or overlord :) Definately the above post regarding charges; without them you can't use some of your better abilities, also note the opposing elements - water/fire, air/nature they cancel each other so they take charges away. |

I reccommend downloading the Fibrillator tool which will allow you to design builds offline (Fury installation required). |
