The community is typically quiet but I was offered help by some kids in the guild I was in, which was nice. There's not really any role-playing, and the sound would be nicer if it wasn't so looped. It is child safe - almost too child safe, some words that are censored are baffling, but its also goldseller discouraging - you can't trade items with each other. Since pirates are greedy, that figures. The graphics are simple but the animations are good. The sounds are excellent - but are just *there*, without any kind of point of reference. if someone shoots on the otherside of the island, you can hear it as if it is right next to you. Customer service is extremely chancey. One time i got a total moron - the next time, my problem was literally solved in *minutes* of contacting them. One issue is lag. it can strike suddenly and without any kind of warning - one moment you're toodling around sinking the enemy, the next you are barely able to turn and it looks like a slow slideshow - and of course, half the time you are just sunk if that happens. Moving to a 'Quiet' server helps with that quite a bit. Over all, thumbs up - my guild and i (we play on AoC and EQ2 and CoH) play on thursdays. Arrrrh! Fri Jul 04 2008 12:19AM
