Death welcome you all!

I had fun for the first 3 hours of the game, npcs had funny comments, decent graphics

But.....

  • The Ads were extremily annoying
  • The game lacked team play
  • Continuous grinding got boring
  • AND finally Most items are for members only

Overall i would rate the game a 4.3 as the Gameplay gets boring pretty quickly (unless ur into heavy grinding)

I don't think it'd be quite as bad if the majority of the items weren't members only. Forget about this game being free, if you want to get anywhere you'll have to become a member.

I disagree with the comments from both of you:

  • Ads - After a few minutes, most players forget the ads are there.
  • Team Play - he game doesn't lack team play.  In fact, it has--hands down--one of the best group features of ANY game, the ability to instantly teleport to another group member with no cooldown.  If you die and end up in the cemetary, just warp right back in!
  • Continuous grinding - this is a little misleading.  While it's true that there's little to do but run dungeons over and over (it is a hack-n-slash dungeon crawler, so what would you expect), I wouldn't call this grinding.  Grinding, to me, is when you sit there killing the same respawning mobs over and over again with no point but to level up or skill up.  A great example of this is 9Dragons.  In order to unlock another set of quests, one might have to go up three levels.  So, players just keep farming the same mobs in the same area until they get those three levels.  In DR, you have goals:  tons of quests, completing an entire dungeon level or even entire dungeon, etc...  In my opinion, this isn't grinding.  It's incentive to play.
  • Member items (1)  - you're absolutely wrong on this point.  Everybody can use gray, green and blue items, which are the most commonly dropped.  Yellow items, which are more rare, have a 75% chance of being  used by everybody. Purples and Rainbows, the rarest of items, have a 25% chance of being used by everybody.  So, actually, the majority of items can be used by everybody and you still have a chance of using the rarest and, theoretically, "best" items.
  • Member items (2) - Regardless, non-members get EXACTLY the same benefit from weapons they can't or wouldn't use as members do - they can sell them for gold!  Members only actually use a very small percentage of the drops they get due to them not being for their class, their "build", etc..., so member sell most of the items they get anyway.
  • Member items (3) - You can do quests and turn in the King's coins for yellow, purple and rainbow gear that can ALWAYS be used, regardless of your membership status. If you're a non-member, you'll get a non-member item for your KCs.

In regards to this quote:

Forget about this game being free, if you want to get anywhere you'll have to become a member.

This, too, is completely  untrue.  When was the last time you played?  As I stated above, non-members have a 75% chance to use yellows that drop and 25% to use purples and rainbows AND all KC items are usable!  Higher level non-members are almost completely decked out in yellows, purples and rainbows.  In fact, I would argue that the only non-members using blue gear or lower are very, very low in level and just haven't found yellow gear yet.  Personally, I can be fully decked out in yellow by level 8 and before I've even left Dew Valley (the newbie intro zone).  Btw, I play both member and non-member accounts, so I have a pretty good perspective of how they both work.

I don't mind reading opinions (I don't mind the ads, you do, for example - perfectly valid), but statements as fact that are untrue bother me.

FYI - I'm currently testing the new build.  The Ad Banner now changes size depending on your resolution, making it much less intrusive.  Here are some comparison pics:

Phreeloder - old banner size
