MMORPG.com recently caught up with NCsoft's Albert Kanan to talk about what the retail version of Dungeon Runners gives to players, a wacky critter called a bling gnome that actually serves a pretty good purpose and more.
Sorry to rain on NCsoft's parade, but I really don't see how they can charge for this game. The dungeon's are so repetitive it is beyond boring. Even the asian f2p games are so much better.
While this game might have flown 10 years ago, it is so dated by today's standards as not even worthy of mention.
A game with just dungeons in it is just dumb, especially since they repeat the design ad infinitum.

No. I found the game boring, boring, boring after about 2 dungeons. YMMV of course. This game appeals to people who get off on seeing a bunch of loot fly off each mob and bounce on the ground after they kill it. That's all this game is.
Even 10+ year old Diablo has more variety in it's layout than game. Every layer is a square and every dungeon looks practically the same. I would rather grind in one of those grindfest games than put up with another one of these look alike dungeons.
You have to have a really high tolerance for bordom to enjoy this game.
If people expect or even try to compare this to a large all-singing and dancing mmorpg they will definately be dissapointed.
This is a lighthearted hack and slash game that manages to take quite a few (cheap?) shots at some of the huge, serious mmo's. To me it is just a fun, whacky "lunchbreak" game that runs on just about anything.
Plays just fine as f2p but the "blinggnome" and the other benefits you get with the box was a great bargain to me.
Gaming might be extremely serious business to some but this little thing actually succeded where AoC failed: It made me laugh and entertained me!
i didnt even make it to the first dungeon in this game before i uninstalled it, the graphics were too 2moons like with a really bright shadow, i dont know how to word it.. i cant even comment on the gameplay because i didnt really experience it but the graphics are terri-bad.
This game is simplistic but fun. I have a high end machine. I love realistic graphics. Yes, DR's graphics are outdated but not so bad that you can't enjoy game. If you're looking for free, simple fun, you can't go wrong with DR. If you go in and solo, you'll get bored. Hook up with a team, set the dungeon instance to insane and...try to keep up! I wouldn't expect this game to be anybody's first choice, but if you're looking for a bit of online mindless fun in a game setting that makes fun of and parodies fantasy RPGs, check it out. It's free to play!
I played this to like level 20 or so with my friend, it was a blast! Of course that took like a day, so it's not a long term game by any means. All of the loot I couldn't use did tempt me a bit to pay up, but then we got bored and moved on. But I don't want to criticize the game for that, it has it's place. Not every game has to be a 3+ year soul-sucking, lifestyle choice.

This game is fun regardless.

Game is fun but gets boring quickly. Redundant is the word that comes to mind playing this game.
Actually, Diablo comes to mind when I play it. *shrug*

I enjoy the game for what it is and I like the box perks
my only criticism is the game needs more dungeons for level 40+
I thought this game was horrible. Boring, uninteresting, just never grabbed my interest.
