Yeah, glad to hear they got some help. I remember being really excited when I saw they were going to make this MMO, but then things went sour as far as if it would even make it to retail.

Fingers crossed, it'd be a pity to see this go to the wall.

MGM should have pulled the plug, with whats happend so far i dont have much faith in them not running out of money again, or the game ever being released, there is far too much dodgy dealing's mixed up with this game.

Money isnt the problem imo its the management of this company. It reminds me of Vanguard in how no amount of money and talent and good ideas can make up for bad management.

Ye gods I hate this.

First I am looking forward to the game.
Then we start hearing they are having major money problems.
Then it looks like it is dead so we can move on.
Then they get a little money and say they will be able to release after all.
Then it looks like they ran out of money again and the game will be laid to rest.
Now they have money again and are planing to release again.

Unless they got a LOT of money and will be able to take the time the game needs to be finished... I have a bad feeling that even if they do release it is going to be rushed, buggy, lacking content and with huge balance issues.

I really wanted this to work, but please will somebody put this game out of it's misery already? It is just not humane to watch something like this die in so terrible a fashion.

I thought hat SOE was going to buy them out at the end of the month.   I thought this game was dead or dying.

This is good news indeed.   I don't suppose anyone knows who exactly is funding SGW now?   But it looks like we're all coming out of our global recession, so with a little luck SGW will be on the shelves soon.

I for one will definately be buying it.  If only to add it to my collection of every SG and SGA episode and movie made.

Umm no.This fiascal has become VERY apparent,that there is NO CME,it is only ONE guy controlling the money and the direction or lack of direction and lack of control.

The studio lead has left the game,i would think if there was any glimmer of hope,the lead would stay on,but nope he's gone,so that should tell you the REAL picture.

Anyway I was really really hoping this game would die and a big studio would pick up the IP. I want to play in a stargate universe more so then I want to play a linear game, jumping from one mission to the next. I just don't get a good impression this company knows what its doing from all i've read.

Not sure why OP choose to place one of the first screenshots ever made public for the game. Perhaps to get the reaction we see from people who might not have seen it before?

 I know this game has had its obstacles as far as developement is concerned, but I have to hand it to the company. When it came down to do or die they found a way to move foreward. Hopefully they now have the means to achieve their goals. Good luck :-)

StarGate Worlds was the game I was anticipating to play as my next MMO. Unfortunatly, problems in developpement, poor quality graphics shown in screenshots and the uglyest SG1 props I even seen changed my mind.

Seeing all the goos thing Star Wars Old Republic offered for now like a full 20 minute gameplay, nice screenshots and an amazing trailer confimed me that SGW will not be my next MMO.  The franchise will die by it self I think.

Maybe an other game in few years based on the franchise will be amazing. Something reminds me of the Star Wars franchise (Star Wars Galaxies and Star Wars Old Republic)

Been waiting along time for this MMO but to be honest it does not look all that impressive MGN should of got someone like Cryptic studio's to devolope the game it would of turned out better.

Funding not withstanding, they lost some of their staff, at least those that were marketable, so that will further extend any development time.  Last I heard they had some real issues with the coding.  They are still not out of the woods.

The funding they are receiving is not to finish SGW, it's to finish their other little project SGB.   Finishing SGW depends on if this other project 1) continues on schedule 2) actually ships 3) people actully buy it generating enough cash to finish SGW.

Their talent pool is slim pickings as the marketable talent left long ago.   Real developers are unlikely to work at such an unstable company -- they are especially not going to relocate to the Phoenix area to boot.

man, after playing SGW beta, i'm not sure if they should finish it. it really was like a poor version of tabula rasa. i hope they can pull it off, but i've no hope.... sadly.... :(

Makes sense really. Push out a single player game first to get money and hopefully they would get enough to please the investors enough to get them invest more.

Even with the extra funding I get the feeling this game is a long way off. I also think that their reputation has suffered and a lot of the MMO playerbase will think twice before buying the game.

Why would you say that?  SGW IP would have made a great MMO.  Do you mean that it should die because of current economic woes in America, coupled with the financial troubles of this IP... or you just don't like Stargate series?

The game is horrible. It's an embarrassment to the Stargate franchise. MGM should do everything in its power to keep this game from being released.

They received money to get it released. Not do a complete redesign which is what this game really needs.

Copeland, are you a beta tester for SGW?

While I really enjoy the IP and I once did enjoy the thought of the MMO I am just not looking forward to it anymore. At this point in time for me to have renewed interest I would have to hear MGM pulled the lisence and a new company is making the MMO. Between the money issues, MMOGULS and all I just don't have any faith or interest in what CME produces. In any case, I wish you guys that still have faith in CME the best of luck. Just don't hate me for still hoping another company produces SGW or some incarnation of it.

I was kind of hoping the SGW merchandise I bought would become a collector's item with the failure of the game. The development of the game has been complete and utter garbage. Even if released, it will fail because they don't know what MMO players want.

I actually just posted on this yesterday and didn't think it would get made, but good for the guys who are owed money and the fans of the game, I think it's past due time for the industry to begin to move away from the fantasy high or low settings and into more unconventional settings.  Superhero will actually be over saturated in the next few years and if this game makes it and SWTOR comes out the Sci Fi genre could look good as well, from there hopefully they will begin to look in new and different areas again if we are lucky.

Not that I begrudge Cheyenne the money, but I wish this financing could somehow be redirected to making Tabula Rasa a viable MT-based, F2P.

Based on what little I've seen of Stargate Worlds, the game looks like a lost cause to me and substantially inferior to TR. TR, at least, had some potential -- if it had only been managed better.

I heard Duke Nukem Forever is going to be awesome when it is released.
