Clothing, hats and stickers to a game that isn't even out, and from some accounts may never come out? Oookay...

The skeptic in me says that given their "reported" financial woes they are looking for other ways to make some cash.  I know other big MMOs have this kind of thing it just seems like some odd timing.

They can't spell "suits," either.  A "suite" is a group of business offices, or a multi-room accomodation in a hotel.

Not surprised really.

From what I've heard from friends, it makes sense that the company in developement is in financial issues, but daayum. Selling clothing for a game that will, and I will bet money on this, fail horribly, is just another way for this company to try and milk out what cash they can by using the name.

Well... I'll say this.

Least AoC can say "We aren't as bad as Stargate Worlds".

Now, if they had "real" stargate uniforms and effects in the store... I would be all over it.

But..just like Star Wars...the ulimate FAN stuff, are always fanmade.

I can't talk about this game for reasons I cannot discuss.

I don't pay for-profit companies for the privilege of advertising their product. I never understood people who buy clothing that advertises name brands and products. I mean if they give it to you for free, which they should since it is free advertising for them, and you like to promote it, then go ahead, but to pay for the privilege, that's crazy.

What a sad collection of clothing and at expensive prices too.

I can get (actually have) a polo-shirt with an embroidered logo for the same price...

But it is one way to pay the employees.

I can see the future and I can sum it up in one slogan,

"I played Stargate Worlds and all I got was this lousy T-shirt"

Seriously tho guys. Grow up!

Did you people even play an MMO ever? Or are you guys just professional (paid) trolls?

This is absolutely nothing new! So many MMO companies sell this kind of crap through a webshop.

Especially smaller studios aka indie companies do this to rake in some extra money.

So again! Nothing new! Move along....

Yeah that is pretty much what I said in my earlier post. I know that some of the other bigger MMOs do this and it is fine for SGW to do the same. I was just pointing out that the skeptic in me thought the timing seems a bit funky given their "reported" financial woes. Thats all. Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't. Like I said it seems like it is something worth mentioning.
