Thanks, Taera! I've been a part of the team here since the beginning of this year, but have been a Stargate fan since the first episode of SG-1 entered syndication. I've been actively involved in what the team is bringing to life here, and am so very proud of them -- and so excited for the fans. Please favor me with your questions! Scepter |

Hello Scepter, I am a BIG fan of Stargate sg1 and Stargate Atlantis, I will try to keep my questions to a minimum. First i would like to know how the traveling will work. Will we be able to move freely form planet to planet. or will we have to move at time in game? Next i would like to know how the game play will work, as in most MMORPG's you have a quest/mission to complete, since clearly in the Show they jump right in and find what to do will the game play be similar or will we be get orders from some one? Ill stop here for now A BIG fan,

Ok. I am really excited for SGW to come out. But i am wondering, what ways will people pay. Will there be pre-payed game cards at stores or will it be just paying from a credit card? |
|
Joe Ybarra has talked long and hard about the importance for the game to be reached by as many people as possible. There will definitely be multiple ways for you to play our game. I'm not at liberty to disclose those details yet -- mainly because we're approximately a year from launching and many haven't been ironed out -- but rest assured you will have no problem playing. There will be a monthly fee to play the game Scepter |
|

You can expect the game to be a competitive price with other popular games available at the time, in both retail box price and monthly subscription. Scepter |

Hello mr Scepter, My question is: I m not a fan of the show, I know MacGyver was on the show, anyhow. How will you bring the non fan or those who never heard of , into Stargate world and story without ruining the experience for the fans of the Stargate series? I find that LOTR, while an entertaining game, doesnt attempt to bring the non fan into the game. Same with the Star Wars game , you get bunch of name brands thrown at you , but you dont feel like its Star Wars. Thank you for your time sir. |

Hi Scepter :) I see that official release has been pushed back to '09....any idea about when in '09 we can expect the release?
I've seen things, you...people, wouldn't believe... . Attack ships on fire, off the shoulder of Orion... . I watched C-Beams, glitter in the darkness near the Tannhauser Gate... . All those...moments will be lost in time... . Like...tears...in the rain... |

Either that or he got sick of doing voluntary work for CME, along with most of the DEVs. This game is just plain dead now, there are a few FanOri left on the SGW official forums but they'll soon get sick of defending CME for free. Nothing has happened in 7 months, there has been no beta since it's no longer "early '09". CME have said nothing about missing the deadline and they don't intend to meet it in my opinion, but they'll string along the fools willing to believe their words. I always remember, "Words? Words are worth little insurance, even from the cleanest of mouths!" I go by facts, the facts say CME is shit out of money, luck, and talent. Anyone who believes they'll release anything under these conditions is just another blind faith FanOri. |

Strange as it sounds agricold I agree. Granted I do stay around on the SGW forums, but thats to hold out that ever smaller hope that SGW will be released I think most people are wondering will another company take up the challenge when CME say what we know the we are broke line. But hey stranger things have happened. Only time can tell and time isn't on SGW's side. |

Agreed, only after Whiting is forced to sell up will the opportunity arise for another company to step in. The only thing that can force Whiting is either MGM or he starts losing his own cash on CME, I reckon MGM will be stepping in this summer. I hope to see SGW next year after being developed by a decent company without a galloping meglomaniac at the helm. |

I think argicola originally posted the link to Gate World's interview with Brad Wright who said it all when he said "It should be happening now, if it were happening." That was April 2, and the official post on the website (posted April 7th) was, imo, a direct response to the Gate World interview, in a lame attempt to try and do some damage control. I would also add that the official forums are not even worth reading anymore, and nobody there seems able to admit that the game has already missed one launch date, as though it was ALWAYS intended to be released in '09. Another date, which would be near impossible to meet at this point, even if they suddenly had another influx of investors. And for those who missed the interview with Stargate's executive producer Brad Wright, here it is again. (Thanks to Agricola1) www.gateworld.net/news/2009/04/wright-talks-stargate-worlds-delay/ p.s., sorry that I was too dumb to quote two seperate posts. |
