In Stargate when they go to other planets, they only show a small portion of that planet. Gamers will want do explore these worlds. Obviously we won't be able to traverse the entire planet, so how will we not feel restricted in these worlds? |

Hard to answer thsi one. Developers has sayed that world is like zones, so it's not really hole planet. How ever the size of zone can be different, depending what's in it. In my opinion they mean it will be bigger enough to explore, but there is still limits. Exploration was very important part of SG1 series anyway. |

In one of the interviews (Dev Q+A podcasts that is) I believe that they covered this question. Basically they said that there would be natural geographical features (ocean, rivers, forests, cliffs, etc) that would establish a natural boundary to a region that wouldn't break immersion for players. What they didn't cover, of course, is quite how large an area they plan to map out for us. I'm hoping that they get the balance right - too small and it's not going to feel like we're doing enough exploration, too large and we'll never bump into other players! |
