Subscription fees should go back into the game, not paying for bozos like this to travel all over the world and have get-togethers. When your product is online, your community is online. There really isn't much else for them to do but do roadtrips like this to the conventions because for one the game isn't out yet and they're advertising to people who are pure gamers, and two: nearly every other MMO that matters does it too.
