    The Warhammer Online team recently announced the RvR Pack during GamesCom. The announcement seemed to create quite a stir given how few details were released at the time. Then she moves on to a recap of the RvR Pack and the 're-envisioning' of oRvR for players.

  • Developer Round Table

    Bioware-Mythic developer Andy Belford is taking player questions specific to the just-announced RvR pack. The thread began on Friday and there is no specific date for its end. That in mind, Andy has indicated that he will answer the questions that he can when he can. The thread is already six pages long but will undoubtedly be much longer as the word goes out.

  • Double XP and Renown This Weekend

    Warhammer Online players will want to log in this weekend for some rollicking fun and for double XP and renown. Devs are encouraging folks to come in and try out the latest patch and celebrate "the glory of Open RvR".

  • RvR Pack Announced managed to corner Warhammer Online producer Carrie Gouskos at this year's GamesCom. During the interview, Gouskos confirmed that devs are working on something she called an "RvR pack". She confirmed that Skaven will play a part in the pack but that the race will not be playable from level one. In addition, Gouskos revealed that twenty new renown ranks will be added bringing the total to 100.

  • Against All Odds Deploying Today

    Warhammer Online devs have announced that all servers are currently offline to deploy the v1.3.6, "Against All Odds", content update. Devs anticipate that servers will be down until approximately 2:00 p.m. EST. Changes coming with the new patch include the item appearance system, the redesigned Sovereign Armor set, an enhanced Auction House and the RvR 'against all odds' system.

  • Auction House Changes Coming

    The Warhammer Online team has announced that it is preparing for "significant" changes to the auction house feature. As a result, the ability to create new in-game auctions will be disabled starting today. There is no ETA on when changes will be going into effect or when players will be able to create auctions.

  • Against All Odds - The Test

    Bioware Mythic is inviting everyone to tomorrow night's ORvR mechanics test. The event will take place on the public test server in the RvR Lakes. Developers will be on hand to lead the troops into battle. Afterward, WAR devs will be on hand on the Ventrilo channel for a post-event chat.

    Warhammer Online's Carrie Gouskos has written the July edition of the Producer's Letter. In it, Gouskos talks about summer convention plans for the WAR team in both Cologne, Germany and at the Baltimore (MD) Games Day. The letter also goes into some detail about the recent WAR forum move from the WAR site to the Bioware Community Site and the transition of the European servers back to Bioware Mythic control.

    On Friday, July 30th, players were invited to a developer chat in the public test server Ventrilo channel. user Christopher8 has let us know that a transcript of the chat is now available Gaarawarr Gabs. Fans asked a wide variety of questions about topics like 6v6 scenarios, whether or not Linux will be supported, and stealth mechanics. There's a ton to read!

  • Stability Test and Dev Chat

    Warhammer Online players will want to check into the public test server tonight at 8 p.m. EST for a stability test. Devs want to get as many players as possible online and have a couple of incentives to get them there: 1) Two devs will be held captive in the opposing camp's keep. Players are to rescue the dev and escort him back to his keep before the other team. And 2) There will be a Ventrilo dev chat beginning at 4 p.m. EST.

  • Forums Moving Within 24 Hours

    As announced earlier, the Warhammer Online forums will be moving to the Bioware Social Network. The old forums will be archived and will be made available at some future point. In the meantime, the new Warhammer Online forums at the Bioware Social Network site will be up and running within the next 24 hours.

    The final transition between GOA/Telecom and EA to bring back full control of Warhammer Online to EA is now complete according to a new press release. Under the new deal, publishing, subscriptions and operating will revert to Bioware-Mythic in the EU.

  • More Layoffs at Mythic

    Continuing the tumultuous series of events that have plagued Mythic since the launch of Warhammer Online in 2008, it appears that EA Mythic has been hit with a new round of layoffs this morning. Josh Drescher, a key player in the development of WAR and well known to fans, is no longer employed with EA Mythic as of 11AM this morning according to a tweet posted on his personal Twitter account.
