A recent post to the WAR Herald reveals that the Warhammer Online Endless Trial, which allows for players to play through Tier 1 for free, is now live! The launch of the new trial will automatically convert all current 10 Day trial users over to the new system, and also sees the introduction of a new streaming trial client. Similar to the World of Warcraft trial download, players will only have to download a 1GB client with the rest of the data being streamed in as it's needed.

In the recently released Patch 1.3.2, the bug has been fixed and AP rates have returned to normal levels, but with players so used to being able to just spam their attacks, there have been some concerns in the community over the issue and WAR's Combat & Careers Team Lead Nate Levy addresses them in this latest dev diary.

For this set, we get a look at the newly designed armor sets for the following classes: Shaman, Marauder, Chosen, Witch Elf, Archmage, White Lion, Witch Hunter, and Knight of the Blazing Sun. The images show a comparison of the armor progression for these classes from Sentinel to Invader armor sets.

The most notable of these changes are the New User Journey and Apprentice System. The former being a total overhaul of the experience new players have with the game, while the latter allows for a City of Heroes-style sidekicking function called the "Apprenticeship" system.
Reported on Sep 30, 2009EA has announced today the release date for the Mac client of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. WAR will be arriving on Mac's on October 28th, 2009. The Mac version will be available to new subscribers by digital download at Gametreeonline, and will include 30 days of game time. The client will be priced at $19.99. Current subscribers of the game will be able to access the Mac version free of charge.

In an update to the WAR Herald, we are treated to a peek of a few of the newly designed armor sets, along with comparisons to the current ones. The sets featured in this update are the Tier 4 armor sets for the Blackguard, Engineer, Squig Herder, Zealot, Bright Wizard, and Swordmaster.

The new version introduces major adjustments to the City Invasion design to make it more accessible to users, as well as improvement to the flow of the city invasion stages themselves. A significant contribution to the increased accessibility of city invasions is the decoupling of fortresses from the requirements to initiate a city siege.
