Website: Lords of the Dead (www.lotd.org)

Recruitment: TBA

We'll officially open recruitment later, but you can post here, or register on our site and participate there until we open recruitment. This is mostly an informational post at the present time.

I have put up a notification post in the LotD Warhammer forum for people to let us know if they want to be notified when we do site news updates and begin accepting applications.

Brief History

LotD was founded in 1995 and has played multiple MMORPG's over the years. The guild is a mixture of hardcore and casual gamers who like to have fun, and due to our rigid recruitment process we only retain quality players. The guild has a good track record in PVP, and I invite you to read our guild history.  The last game in our guild history is Guild Wars .There we were top 5 through the BWE's, and were top 40 up to six months after retail release.

We have had success in every game, and we are currently playing WoW and City of Villains (CoV) while we wait for Warhammer. Recently LotD was one of 4 guilds nominated from the entire game population for the 2006 PVP guild of the year.

Recruitment Rundown

Lords of the Dead is a highly competitive guild that focuses on PvP. If you want to make friends with a bunch of great people, and if you are a good player that wants to be a part of a guild that uses advanced tactics and teamwork to excel at PvP, then Lords of the Dead is the right guild for you.

While Lords of the Dead is highly focused on PVP, we also accept members don't want to PVP a majority of their time. These members can contribute to the guild by leading quests, organizing events, helping out with leveling and character development, and participating in a host of other non PVP related activities.

We require that our members be fairly active. You can be away for vacation, etc. without anyone being upset with you but we are looking for people who, while not away for vacation or other events, play a total of 10 or more hours/week so that you can be an active part of our guild events. Attendance to all events is not required, but we usually schedule  PvP, PVE, or other events every week where having a good turnout is important.

Voice Chat

Lords of the Dead uses a program called Ventrillo to talk to one another while we play. Ventrillo is a free program that allows us to coordinate attacks and strategy as quickly as speaking. No more trying to type "STOP!" in half a second to save your group. Instead, you can just say it with one press of a button.

We are fairly selective as we are an elite, but not elitist.  We give most people a fair chance to prove that they belong in the guild, and that they can prove that they can contribute to the guild. Successful applicants will be dedicated, fun-loving, and willing to apply on our forums and to set up Ventrillo, etc.

FAQ

1.Why is LotD so special?

Because we've lasted 12 years in MMORPG's, spanned several games, and have had PVP success in each one. That success has translated into recruiting and retaining quality members over the years, and has helped LotD form good relations with several gaming companies and dev studios.

2. What sort of members are you looking for?

Mature acting members who are hardcore in their desire to bring pain to the enemy, who are team focused, who contribute to the guild, and don't get their panties in a wad too easily.

Carebears (people who can't be evil) need not apply.

3. What Faction is LotD going to be?

We need more info, but Chaos Humans are definate and then we'll allow other allowed races to join the guild.

4. How will LotD integrate its Lore into Warhammer?

That's why the guild leadership going Chaos Human. From a roleplay standpoint, the LotD leadership always takes human form while our "servants" or lesser lords may take other forms.

5. Will LotD ally with other guilds?

We may work with other friendly guilds from time to time, but we are not planning to join or lead any mega alliance.

6. How do I participate with LotD until Warhammer is released?

You can sign up to join our WoW or CoV gaming chapters if you want. We plan to keep both chapters going until Warhammer, and then roll the entire guild into the new game.  You can have a PVP ready character in CoV with about 40-50 hours of gameplay.

Otherwise you can register on our site, and keep an eye on our Warhammer forum.c.

i love the idea of all this... and organization is impeccable, but i'm sort of concerened on those with lives... (as in jobs, schooling, girlfriendd/wife, those with children)? the ranking systems?? and if there is favortism???? it sounds good, for this is what i am used too in a guild but the few things i've mentioned in the past i've seen alot...

We don't expect gaming to be a full time job. We just organize members by their play status, and we like for members to let us know when they'll be out of game/town, etc so we can play guild events properly.

Our rigid evaluation process is mainly to make sure we are gaining quality team playing members. We don't want to keep people who are slackers, disruptive, or not team players. So the bottom line there is that the people we keep past the probationary period are people that have the qualities we are looking for.

Warhammer is a way's off we know, but feel free to keep up with Lotd and participate on our forums (via commentary or discussion threads) in the meantime.

Just be sure to register on our website and keep up to date with whatever news announcements we put on the forums there. Later in the year (fall?) or when a beta appears near we will post a sign up thread in the LotD warhammer forum so that we can create a base usergroup of members.

Also if you are bored, feel free to join one of our current gaming chapters.

Hey LrdHades. I am going to get Warhammer Online, and I am looking for a sweet PvP guild. I checked out your guild's site. It looks awesome! Can you tell me how I can submit a membership application? I'd like to join your guild for Warhammer Online. Thanks.

Right now just register on our website, and feel free to comment in our Warhammer forum or general forum. When the game appears to be moving closer to a beta stage, we will put up an official recruitment thread in our Warhammer forums.

We are currently playing WoW and City of Villains (both PVP) so feel free to join up with us for those games in the meantime.

A word of advice. DO NOT JOIN THE GUILD "LORDS OF THE DEAD"!!! There was a 2 page post about jews, which had disgusting comments in them, and it was only deleted after I mentioned it on the forums. Many guild members posted rude comments about me. No one cared about the anti-semitic remarks. In fact,. the guild members thought it was ok!!! Lords of the Dead is an anti-semitic and racist guild. I am only warning you. Take my advice. Don't join them!

The post was removed for inappropriate content. We run a loose set of forum moderation, and don't comb our forums daily like maybe some carebear guilds do.

Your mistake was that you came to our site and got argumentative with site members, and they then turned around and flamed you. An LotD guild elder of 12 years is Jewish, and even he told you that you were being a pansy.

Bottom line is don't go to an evil guild's website with a bleeding heart mentality, and get involved in conversations while you are a virtual stranger. Any site member can notify admins about inappropriate posts at any time, and we'll review them.

LotD's website has 950 registered members, and there are a lot of people who post there who are not guild members. Regardless, expect to be flamed at any guild's website if you go there and suddenly insert your own version of morality into an established community.

Just because you were run off the site for stupidity, doesn't make LotD a guild full of racists. We have jews, blacks, whites, europeans, asians, and even an australian aborginee (guild elder of 6 years) in the guild.

I've been gaming with LotD for about 2 years now. They are a very solid guild. If anyone is looking for a home in WAR, one should definitely check out the LotD website.

We have always competed at the top levels in any game we've played. UO Pacific wasn't any better than any other UO shard.  True guilds of power last multiple years, across multiple games, and have a track record of success. We're one of those, and maybe you are too. But ultimately you should save the smacktalk until the game starts and you can back it up.

They have been around for quite some time and I'm sure if you played UO you would have heard of Hades.  He wrote all the articles on PvP on Ultimaonline.com and they are still there to this date after 8 years.  I am not a guild member but they are a very good guild on every game I've played with or against them on.  I've never heard of Any of the guilds you'velisted including your guild other then Regulators and I've played almost every mmorpg out there for the past 11 years.  The guilds I've seen the most are LoTD, The Combine and LoD.

this guild seems official, fun loving, and together.  2 things, im not exactly sure about if you guys are in beta, if you will be recruiting orcs, or if you guys plan to do raiding.  however i am sure about a number of things, i want to own, i own at pvp in wow but i dont have mad epix.  i like melee based units for that hack and slash feel and when that big fucking flashy crit comes along, a feeling wells up inside of my that i just charged him, wacked him and i burst out and say OWNED YOU STUPID CUNT BAH MAGE!!!  if you play wow, you must know im a warrior.  and id love to BRING THE FUCKING PAIN!!!! sign me up, i plan on buying this game, playing four or more hours a week.

I know Hawthorne the Regulators GM pretty well, and LotD has gamed with and against them over the years.  Most recently was Shadowbane when LotD and TR split off from R30 on the Scorn server.  TR founded a city called "Rome" and got crushed by the R30's.  LotD founded LAPD, which became an alliance that ended up Crushing R30 within a month after their leadership got banned for hacking and duping.

Right now you can count on us going Chaos Faction, and allowing whatever race/class combo that can create.  Obviously different races are going to have different start points and we'll need a plan to get coordinated at some common point.

We have talked to Sanya at comic con or some recent convention, and she says that guild selection into the closed test will be random. If we make it into beta, we'll deal with that then.
