I swear I don't know what I'm doing.

OP  9/08/11 9:56:39 PM#1

Is anyone else miffed that rather than improve an overall decent MMO to make it great by adding more content and fixing bugs and tweaking little things, they made some bullshit moba?

They did almost nothing for THREE years and then released some stupid fucking moba, what I liked about WAR was the whole thing, scenarios were the worst part and now they've decided to pick that and enhance it!

Really... ?

Please, please someone tell me they plan to actually do something with this game! Tell me they aren't abandoning it for a shitty moba.

Supposedly subbing to WAR gives you bonuses to their MOBA. But it seems like people will just sub to WAR for the bonuses in the MOBA and not touch WAR. Idk who thought it was a good idea if they were trying to bring people into WAR.

I agree that this game could still be 'saved'.  No, I don't think that WAR will ever have a huge subscriber base, but they could really still put the fit and finish on the game that it needed.

After going through my normal cycle of revisiting WoW, RIFT, LOTRO, etc.,... I landed back at WAR.  Not only did I sub, but 4 of my co-workers/friends did as well.  We're having a lot of fun.  We're all a bit 'disappointed' by some fo the shortcomings of the game, but we're working around those and really hoping that they are things that will be fixed/addressed.

How much attention is this game still getting from an active dev team?

I agree with the OP. Disappointing is the tamest word I could find to express my outrage of this use of funds.

I don't mind scenarios so much (well, at least when I'm not getting pummeled by a double premade), but all that time and energy could have gone into improving the overall game.

What I hate particularly about the MOBA is that it isn't your character you choose. Just some premade avatar already tricked out. There is no progression. Even if it was some shitty level-based gear grinder at least you have a scrap of emotional investment into your character.

I don't know...perhaps the online gaming genre is passing me by, and going in directions that seem odd and weird and counterculture; certainly counter community.

They just no longer have the resources and never really made the effort such as a compoany like the guys who made Rift are giving them new content every single month, rumor is they have a PvP zone coming to Rift soon, but who thing people can do is wait for WAR to make the F2P transition that will bring alot of players in and give Mythic much needed money to improve on the game.

Nothing else to say but that it pisses me off.
