Originally posted by Kingdouglas Quoting myself here, it's funny but I'm actually back playing WAR again and enjoying it. All that is needed is a guild with a group of skilled players (and a few high rr90+) to enjoy the game, preferaly friends of you. Without that tho, it's harsh. Not sure what that says about the game. |

Says without gear, you're gonna get pounded hard in the game and anyone starting now doesn't have a prayer of doing anything when people are already RR100.
Maybe if it was F2P already, people wouldn't mind getting roflstomped as much I'd guess. |

As an avid Warhammer amd Warhammer 40K fan, i.e. I read the novels and play any WH/WH40K games, I invited a good friend of mine that has been playing MMOs with me for many many years to try Warhammer with me. I had been playing Warhammer Online on and off for a few years, and warned him in advance that Tier 1 is active, but small, Tier 2 and Tier 3 has slowed down alot, but that if we could get to Tier 4, we will enjoy ourselves. Well, despite the fact that it takes alot...I mean alot for him not to like a game....after we got to level 14 he had had enough. Tier 1 was not as busy with players as it once was. Plus, Tier 2 was DEAD....no one was there playing...we could not even find anyone in Tier 2 and were totally bored with Tier 1. For the first time ever he proclaimed "MAN...I AM SO BORED I CANT STAND THIS GAME ANYMORE". I feel bad for Warhammer as an IP...how the hell could they have allowed anyone to produce a game that despite it being stable, decent graphics, have such a poor story, lack of support, expansion, etc etc etc. THANK GOD for Relic and THQ the makers of all the Dawn of War II Warhammer 40K games as they are making both Space Marine and Warhammer 40K Dark Millenium online, as they are a proven winner when it comes to making Warhammer 40K games and their MMO will be the same. As for Mythic, the folks who botched Warhammer Online...I hope players will not confuse their fiasco with the future Warhammer/Warhammer 40K titles that are sure to be winners. And Bioware...yeah you are a great game company, but you did NOTHING for Warhammer Online when you took the game over. Games Workshop needs to be careful who they license their IP too in teh future. Originally posted by popinjay please dont compare rift with war, it's an insult. from lv 10-20, you will be pvping in a small square...how boring !! in WAR , t1 you can pvp at northland(open), or SC pvp. you got different objectives to meet. in t2 , t3, you can go to elf land, dawrt land , chao/emp land for pvp. for rift, a lot of people have already cancelled their pre-order.
i dont understand why people think that WAR is a disappointment, it is the 1st f2p game that i converted to subscribe member. mind you, i have play a lot of mmorpg(check my xfire signature), i am done with those mindless grinding and boring pvp like RIFT, champion online, Aion and etc..
Originally posted by Aljax it was already f2p for quite a while...
Finally, WAR is far from dead, i can find more players compare to Aion ! i am at GMT +8 time zone, those players from NA should be sleeping while i am playing but it was not, i can still find full WB easily |

Didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Sorry.
War isn't dead? Must be sleeping then. Really, really hard. |

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Relic is busy with the space marine one, vigil games is the one with the mmo project, the ones that only made the darksiders project and decided to go 2 factions..(ohhh dejavu) (yeah both are under THQ and they can share the talents but still nothing is guaranteed) "Some of the less objective people tend to be close-minded though and basically disregard any possible shortcomings that gw2 could have." |

Who cares? Most players considered Daoc a better RvR game than WAR and and in the early days that didn't even include BG's, and even then when they came not till 20+.
Who cares that you can not PvP in the first few hours/day when the rest of your characters lifetime is spent at high/top level? I could care less that I have to pass some low/non pve part in the low levels if it meant great PvP at the top.
And lol @T2/T3. Yes. If you were lucky enough to be on a server that actually had people PvP-ing there. There's also countless people who weren't that lucky.
Anyway, I have not nor do I plan to play Rift, but this argument that WAR is so much better a pvp game some people have *because* there's PvP in the lower levels is beyond ridiculous. It's meaningless in any long term sense. |

No. But I'd certainly not judge a game on whether I have to drudge through either option for a few hours. What I care about is the end game. Because that is what I'll be doing it for.
And that's still assuming it was quite as ideal as you make it sound and not Rat farming for a few tiers. |

Pretty soon, his statement that action is popping all the time will be true, because there will only be one server anyone can click.
