I was thinking about coming pack before I saw you must pay for extra content, such as 100rr?
Whats this you have to pay monthly fee just to play and then extra for content?
In WoW you atleast get patches for free |

ask yourself if you like games that are dead or about to die. no? then don't play WAR. it's a good game with nobody in it. |

If you're going to play, I'd recommend starting on Badlands. Playing on any of the other servers is just plain painful T2-T3 unless you like Korean-like grinding. IMHO, they really mucked up the game with the latest "expansion" too. But whatever, I like the game but once again developers decided to jack with things. Some people will like it, others won't. So tired of people jacking up my games...NEXT! "Censorship is never over for those who have experienced it. Yeah Badlands would be the best choice if you plan to start over. Can't transfer there though. The Karak's may be a good option if you do that, EU though. |

Originally posted by Thelow Actually War is booming right now. Last night I saw groups of 60+ fighting in the lakes. The game has a stable community and is even growing some. Tiers 1-3 have people leveling and scenario pops. The RVR packs increase level caps to 100. The packs also speed up rvr leveling up to 80 which is nice, once you hit 80 however it slows back down. Wow didn't charge for level increases? Correct me if I'm wrong but WOW has always charged for their expansions. The War RVR pack is only ten dollars. I'm not a 12 year old, 10 bucks is nothing to me. I just spent 20 on WOW, played it for 3 days and unsubbed because the graphics were sooooooo bad. Now I'm playing WAR. volkmar and badlands are packed servers with stable communities. The only problem now is until you hit Reknown Rank 60+ the level 80's are going to stomp you but so is the way of any mmo. |

Originally posted by Scorchien Exactly why I told you to compare actual content, not some shoddy list like you just did.
Your 'raid content' and 'rvr zone' are the same thing for one aren't they? If you mean the Skaven Dungeon, which is not even a zone, it's an instance, basically just a scenario. WoW has 4-6 new *zones*, *redesigned, and requested* every 1-60 zone (~36 zones) including the whole graphic redesign to allow for flight, some kind of guild advancement I think, a number of high end dungeons/raids, several new PvP battlegrounds, new talents, new spells, new abilities, rated battlegrounds, 450+ professions... that's just some of the stuff off the top of my hat.
Like I said. That patch you just got. Doesn't even come close. Certainly not in any way that you can say 'But yeah, *that* is why it costs less. Because the content versus price is incomparable. You can feel and consider it worth it. That's a whole other thing. I think the price, for a whole 1.4 content patch would be fine, if it were *extra* content, but it's not. But as an expansion, it's in no way comparable. |

Blizzard also charges $25 for a mount in WoW... When comparing that the RvR packs seem very cheap. If WoW = The Beatles |

Originally posted by Thelow The population is in the toilet, SC's rarely pop these days in lower tiers as no-one is playing that level and those who are, are in the open zones lock-humping for tokens. War is in a terrible state, it's likely that DAoC will soon have more active subs....a 10 year old game.... |

Originally posted by Littlebomb WAR is not booming, to claim otherwise is laughable. 60+? Thats terrible, even Norn had 150+ in a relatively decent skirmish when i last played a few months back (ok, with crippling lag for anything over 100, but even so). My friends tell me even that server is dying now. Christ, even DAoC regularly has way more than 60 in open rvr encounters. |

We just finished a city siege. The game is booming. The battles are huge.
Are you subbed? Are you playing? The lakes are full and skirmishing happens until 5 am west coast time.
I love that people who don't even play seem to know how the game is going. The new rvr system is great and most the people who play will tell you that. |

Badlands is a closed server for new characters now. I still don't understand how someone who is not playing can know how the game is going? I have been playing all week and can tell you from first hand experience that it has plenty of people fighting in the lakes. Scenarios pop in less than a minute almost all night. |

Playing or not, if you didn't post obvious nonsense like this then people might take your screaming optimism seriously. As it is your overblown statements are simply undermining the message you're trying to convey. Yes, pops in T4 are lively with the new patch. That's to be expected with new content. No the game's pops can't be compared to release at all. Especially since the game was simply different then, the lakes worked differently, the whole flow was different. It will change again when they opt to put forts back in. One way or another at least. |

One thing WAR had going for it was large scale pvp. The 1.fail patch pointedly destroyed that option, and turned pvp into small brief skirmishes that you can find in any game that offers pvp. There was a lot of other fail in that patch, but this changed the root vibe of the game. Maybe a few accounts resubbed to check out 1.fail, but those and many more will be signing off soon. |
