Seems like Bioware got he perfect chance now to introduce a 3rd faction for PvP conflicts.. |

Skaven not Slaven. They would need more races to go in the third faction but it would help things a lot, I think to add a third. I'm honestly surprised Mythic didn't make WAR more of a modern DAOC than this...thing...that they made.

A third faction means offering the same content for that faction as for the other two. Which means a whole lot of development time and money. Besides, it isn't useful anyway, people aren't going to reroll now and too few new players get in. Making a hero faction that starts at the max level wouldn't really balance things either.
I find 3 factions overrated anyway, they're regarded as the holy grail by DAoC vets, but I'm not convinced. |

I think its too late for them to introduce a third faction now. The entire design of the game has been based around the two faction idea. To change it now would be pretty much impossible in my opinion. I also don't think that anyone cares enough about the game at this point to make that kind of HUGE change to it. |

The population probably couldn't support it now, but had they launched with one it would probably be sitting on an entirely different mountain right now.. “There are dread secrets that none may know and have peace. More, secrets that render whosoever knoweth them an alien unto the tribe he belongs to, that cause him to walk alone on earth, for he who takes, pays.” -E. Hoffmann Price |

The difference being that you're never just along out there. In WAR as soon as you start the game and peek out into any Area you have THE other faction breathing down on you, and only you, because you are their only target. With a 3rd faction, if one faction wasn't there, the other two automatically start focusing on eachother. And that always allowed for some breathing space, or times where you could pray on two other forces fighting eachother. I'm not describing it very well but it *really* makes a difference in the way you experience the game.

They don't have the budget to devote to adding a third faction. It would be a major undertaking that would affect every aspect of the game. I would love nothing more to see them do it but it aint gonna happen. |
