Was beta and first month after release warhammer golden age? It had alot of players and got good ratings. also there was fking alot of servers http://www.wowhammer.net/2008/09/warhammer-server-list/

WAR had a ton of players at first because they had a brilliant hype machine working for them. It got good critic ratings because Wars t1 and t2 are actually really good and most critics dont play passed that.

Other than T4, Warhammer is still a pretty good game.  T4 is horrible though still, imo.

At WAR launch I remember there being just over 40 or 50 servers, each with medium / high population.  So yes, WAR is essentially dead compared to what it was in the first month.
