The calling for MJ to be fired, yeah, you need some perspective. Only someone who has no idea how games are made, and thinks making games are easy would say such a thing. It always easer to look at a game, then say something needs improvement, but how about you start from point one, and make a game, that’s the hard part and what they have done very well.

Armchair devs, lolz.

LOL @ OP.

Sorry but Marc Jacobs is what Brad McQuaid should have been.

WAR is a roaring success. Nothing to see here. Give MJ a raise.

Granted, I bitched about WoW's trade skills- until I played LOTRO- and the way the skills work in W.A.R. I have become a fan of the WoW trade skills again. *sigh*

I was also looking forward to no having to grind. I figured that between PVE, PQs, and RvR, I would have to do little to no grinding. That would be true, if I could ever get into an RvR scenario. I have seen the tier 2 scenario three times since I became level 21, and my tier three guildees have never seen the tier three scenario- even after 30 hours of waiting in queues. After completing upto chap 10 in Chaos, I have also done chap 8-10 in Greenskins, and 8-10 in Dark Elves, and I am STILL level 21. After quitting LOTRO because I spent most of that game farming Yetis for the bonus, I find myself in WAR, once again, farming fucking Yetis because the kill collector gives experience for them

The result of all this is that my already low population server, KIslev, is getting lower. The Guild Master of my guild cleaned out 60 players who had not logged on in over two weeks, which is pretty sad for a game that has been around for only three weeks. I believe we will be clearing out more as there are about 50 people who have not logged on in the past week. People are fleeing this game left and right, which cuts down on the available RvR, which destroys the point, and fun, of the game. When I called customer service to see if I could transfer my toons to a higher population server, I was told that "Was not possible" and that they were "looking for ways to remedy the situation".

I have a remedy: fire Mark Jacobs.

That's right. Fire the incompetent general manager and vice president of Mythic Entertainment who allowed the release an unfinished game, late, with serious flaws and irritating features (20 second send mail delay?) I'm sure that the shareholders have noticed the 30% DROP in stock value since the release of W.A.R. and the fact that the servers are laggy, even with low population, is unacceptable. The higher population servers have a too low of a cap- so the only people who can play are those who don't have school or a job.

Contact EA. Tell them what is going on, and demand accountability. Hold the man who was responsible for this utter debacle accountable and fire Mark Jacobs.

This is just a joke right?  This thread...........

From what I understand QQ stands for quit complaining.(Doesn't make sense) so I think you are saying im trolling?

Well, I guess saying someone should be banned because of posting something that could possibly affect a real persons situation in a game forum (a long shot but could happen, I've seen stranger things) is trolling. Guess I better start building a bridge.

Enjoy : )

According to your poll you have failed. It appears that not many voters want Mark Jacobs fired. Also, your guild leader removed 60 people because they had not logged on in 2 weeks? That was just plain stupid.

I think it's hilarious that Orionman still drags his soapbox from thread to thread shouting about Xfire numbers when he's been called out on it a thousand times.

He is a person who staunchly defended Age of Conan when people were quoting Xfire numbers. According to him Xfire is not to be trusted in the case of AoC, but for every other game it is the be all end all of quotable numbers.

He's full of it, and should be banned from the forums here.

I love the game. It's keeping me busy and I've only barely scratched the surface of the content it offers.

The big mistake they did make was the server rollout strategy. Ghost servers are a problem and they have done nothing to address it.

On a dead server, seeing tons of guildmates disappear into the ether doesn't surprise me at all. Not that they are leaving the game, but that most have probably gone to more populated servers.

I moved to populated servers (one for order, one for destruction) after languishing in an underpopulated environment and the difference is night and day.

wanna see something funny?  I found this quote he made back on 9/24/08 about xfire.

I agree. Xfire is useless and the data from those statistics are not very usefull for gauging of population numbers (in particular as AoC in fact also has some compatibility issues with Xfire). The 2% rise could however be good for one thing, which is to set an stopper for all these idiotic AoC xfire analysis posts. That's a blessing in itself

I think it all depends who you ask if this game failed or not. The diehard fans will say no and the rest will clearly have mixed opinions. It will be interesting to see how many actually will subscribe to the game and how long they will last.  Though I suspect it will do no better than DAOC did.

The OP may think the game as failed, but I'm enjoying it nicely.  The population concerns is over dramatized.  Sure it has its problems as a MMO, but its stable/plays well.

If you don't like a game, just stop playing.  Why come here and complain about it?

Past: EQ, EQ2, DAoC, SWG, WoW, LotR, VG, WAR
Present: N/A
Future: DAoC: Origins??

Mark Jacobs fired? lol...

Name me someone in his position that launched a game of this size and did a better job...

Also if Mark Jacobs should be fired what general managers/lead designers do you feel are doing a great job?

Just curious...

I play a lot of games...

I think OrionMan post on the AoC forums under the name "Worgpest", he makes the most idiotic statements you can imagine about the success of AoC and the failure of War.  He took over as lead Fanboi for AoC since Protus has fallen off the boards. OrionMans world has been falling in around him since his "Precious" AoC has been a total disaster, so he's started trashing War in some lame attempt to compensate.

God, no.

He promised WAR would release when it was great, and it obviously it is not a great game, and he knew it, he lied to all of you. Not to talk about the mess he made when announcing the cuts in content, which I won't go into because I forgot the details, but he contradicted himself in a couple of times and in others what he said was so confusing it could be understood both ways. DO NOT trust this guy.

I personally think the game is great. It does have things that irritate me or things i wish were different but overall its a good game. I think mark has done a great job so far and I have confidence that things will improve even more in a few months. The only real obstacle its facing now is the release of WOTLK but I don't see that as a huge threat just because of the type of game WoW is at its core.

Granted I didn't get to start playing till 2 days ago, I have 2 toons at level 11 and that was from about 4-5 hours of play time.

People, if your having a hard time leveling, get into a guild and suck up to the higher level members. In case you didn't know, power leveling in this game is in full force. By that, I mean a level 1 and a level 40 can group, level 40 kills all the mobs and players needed to complete quests, PQ's, PvP objectives and so on. All you need to do is some scenarios when your leveling friend isn't around.

Scenarios at level 8-11 amount to about 7500-10000 XP a pop and scenarios take how long? 10-15 minutes tops? Level 11 requires about 80-100k XP, so 10-15 scenarios and you just made 12.

WAR is easy to level in if you know what your doing, which usually means joining a guild.

EDIT: My bad, you can only group with a level 1 as long as your not 23. My original statement of 40 was incorrect.
