I have yet to play WAR, but from a friend who is in the open Beta, i've heard that it is very laggy.  Is it true that the client is very laggy even at undesireable settings, is it a problem that is likely confined only to Beta, or have most players in the beta not noticed any lag and my friend is just a dumbass on an old rig?  Any insight from other players would be nice.

He's on an old rig.  The game is intentionally not graphically intense because its focused on gameplay instead of pretty pictures.  The games connection does not lag, and the FPS does not lag, ever.  (Speaking from multiple experiences from 100+ characters on the screen.)

If its so old on lowest settings it cant run WAR then he really really needs a new comptuer.

Tell him to spend another 500 to fix his comp.  And if he can't put his own computer together then... i dont know what to say... sucks to be him.

AMD Athelon 64 X2 Dual
2.8 Ghz
3 GB of RAM
8800GTX - not overclocked

Never had anything but silky smooth performance in nearly all areas of the game at moderate settings, for the past 8 months in beta. 200+ person sieges is what it takes to start to notice problems with lag, but still playable.

I don't consider my rig high end. I think if anyone sees lag in this game its mostly due to old equipment or drivers. Thats my experience.

Waiting for: A skill-based MMO with Freedom and Consequence.

I average roughly 13-18 FPS in RvR and settings are set for best performance. Everything else is turned down low. The game does skip but it is not by any means unplayable.
