So im not sure if this has made it to post, but i know many are thinking it. Could WAR become the game to finally put mmorpgs on teh right track or if it ends up being terrible could it be the last straw and kill the industry. That is whats on my mind. If some of you want to chime in it would be great, or if you think there is another upcomming game that could save such a great genre please inform me. Thanks |

Maybe for some people. Obviously some people will be happy with it and others will play for a while and keep looking for their game. Anyway this topic has been done to death. |

WAR will most likely be totally insignificant to the "industry" whether it succeeds or not. Don't forget, there are 10 million people who are perfectly happy playing WoW, and Blizzard, BioWare, Turbine, and SOE will all be launching new AAA MMOs in the next few years. I guess I'm missing the part where MMOs are on "the wrong track". |

Ask a question and you are stupid for 30 seconds, never ask and you are stupid for life. |
I'm more looking forward to something unique and different, Fallen Earth...more people need to know about it. |

It depends on what you mean by mmorpg. If you're referring to a true massively multi-player online role playing game with a large dynamic world and strong community that interacts with one another on a constant basis, you may be right. Because those games are definitely going by the wayside. But if your referring to an online world filled with instances where you can travel around and solo virtually all the content without hardly having to so much as acknowledge another gamer, Warhammer won't even make a dent. Because that's what the market is filled with nowadays. Unfortunately, they sell well, but get boring fast for those who are looking for true MMORPG's. I don't know enough about WAR to say which it is going to be, but from what I've heard, it sounds like it is going to more like that latter than the former. |

Nostalgia is bad. |
Neither. WAR will be a very popular MMO, maybe becoming the second most popular quite quickly. In the west anyway. I could see it getting a million plus subscribers. The MMO market doesn't need saving, however, and it's not going to be destroyed either. |

War wont be a revolution, even if its done right it'll just be the newest truly rvr mmo. That'll draw all those that like rvr and all the whiners that cry in every forum because game have no "real" pvp anymore. But the fact that it's based on a game where you paint lil trolls and roll dices to make them fight is gonna make some people dslike it even before playing it. Warhammer is to many people a game for "nerds" and isnt getting normalized like mmos are. I hope they do it right, eve though I will snot play it it would be reassuring to see that some mmo companies dont aim at one thing f************* the consumers up (thanks Fc). |

No, War won't add anything new and exciting long term for jaded Vet MMOers as it's really not breaking in to new innovative areas for MMO's. It's sticking to what's worked before around War lore and tweaking it. It will do ok with the newest generation of MMOers who're kids born at the end of the 80's and early 1990's.
