That's a great feature, actually. People that gank lower levels are just spineless cowards that suck too much at the game itself to progress, so they vent their frustrations out on other players by hindering their progression.

I'm too lazy to look for the link Bama, but basically it works like this:

If a higher level player enters a lower tiered zone he is immediately transformed into a chaos chicken.

The chicken has 1 hit point, and 1 skill "Peck" that only inflicts 1 point of damage if it hits.  Also I belive all stats are made 1 as well.

Warhammer is an extremely exaggerated and European satire world.   GW themselves have always intented for prevailent comedy of a darker fashion.   Besides the last time I looked killing an army soldier in TT didnt' have explosions of blood and guts only the comic books, novels, and the pen n paper game all of which were NOT written by the GW people at all.

The world also isn't about ganking lowbies for sick pleasure.  If GW didn't like the chicken and thought it was out of character for the world they'd have Mythic remove it.  If you can't find the humor in being an army of chickens then...there is no hope for your dark future.

No but you'll probably be Ganked while your trying to zone in or rezzing since those areas are campable.  Happy PvPing..we don't want negative bully nancies.    

If GW approves and Beta Testers Rave to keep it (which is why they did keep the idea) then I say its all good plus I think its incredibly comical and I hate Gankers..so let them come to the Tier 1 Zones but punish them for it...that seems perfect in my book

As Elvenangel and the WAR devs stated: The beta testers like the once placeholder, now permanent, chicken turning mechanic. It shows everyone around that player what a higher level coming into a lower level RvR zone really is. I see you cannot fathom another game coming out since AoC is out now Crusher so you have to fill your fervered need to come here and bash WAR some more to make you feel more secure in your purchase of AoC. Some of us can enjoy both games without all the childish bashing. Please stop because you are making the community of AoC look like a bunch of children.

The chicken system simply keeps the game fair, thus fun. the point of WAR is to be in a constant battle in the various level zones, not going to starting areas and caping everyone. That would throw off how the game works entirely. Plus, after 120 votes 86% says no.. hmm.. seems fine to me.

Ganking players 20 levels lower is WoW, and if that is your cup of tea, stick to that.

This is not true.  WAR is a level-based MMO and has little to do with skill levels.  I don't mean that as an insult to WAR because I think it will be the best available MMO once it hits the market, but don't get it confused with with a skill-based game.  I'd prefer a skill based game, but they are rediculously difficult to make and successfully release with the MMO market these days.

He's not refering to a skill based system he's refering to actual reactionary & tactical / strategic thinking skills.   If you just run head long through a RvR area expect to die alot.  Thats what he refers too.  A smart skilled player will think first before just randomly running off somewhere.  Not that it won't be fun to do that on a whim anyway but you get the point yes?

if a player wins it won't be due to level since the chicken system doesn't allow players out of level range to go hunting lowbies unless said lowbies go into a higher tiered area where they become fair game.

First off, I did not create this topic. Secondly, I'm very consired of how WAR is progressing.  That Is why I express my thoughts in this thread. But when I do, I'm asked to leave (to AOC or something even worse). 

The chicken thing is so silly. It goes against what Warhammer stands for, and It is just a feature to satisfy all the whiners.

To handle gankers, use an agression system like in WOW, or make Uber Elite NPC guards who quickly take care of the greifers. But for god sake, don't introduce any more crap to WAR.
