We want to thank the great folks at the Warhammer Conflict fan-site for featuring our guild in their very first "Guilds in Conflict" feature article! THANKS WRENN!! Check it out: http://www.warhammerconflict.com/index.php?showtopic=945 GUILDS IN CONFLICT Guild Leader: The Council of Dark Lords, presently including Aladriel Swiftpain, Ar'achna Bael, Kutulu Xul and Machiavelli Noir
Kutulu: Best as I can recall, I came up with the "Unholy Legion" part of the name back in '96. Thing is, in the game we were playing, there were not guilds that you joined - players joined "religions." The religions were either "good", "neutral", or "evil," AND they were either "lawful", "neutral" (again), or "chaotic." So, this was a PvP game. Also, each of the 9 religions got certain skills/spells for its use... each handy in PvP. So, to maximize the chance to kill some goodie-two-shoes, several of us guys in the evil religions formed a non-religious "unholy" alliance. It led to many, many good times. The "Anti-Sanctus Chaotica" part of the name was developed in early '97, as the guild transitioned to a fully Warhammer guild. An infamous Warhammer lore book, The Liber Chaotica, was used as a reference to help us create a guild lore commensurate with Warhammer lore. The book also inspired our new, more Warhammer-y, name. True to the initial impetus for our guild, we thought: "What if there were a secularized version of the Liber Chaotica?" That's where the "Anti-Sanctus Chaotica" came from. Credit goes to all four of the Dark Lords for the discussions that led to this name change. We're pretty sure everyone has seen the "promotional" videos you guys do. Who comes up with the ideas, and who participates in the production? Shadddow: These videos are primarily member freelancing. Anyone who wants to add a little something to the WAR and ASC community can take it upon themselves to begin such projects. Typically they are individuals who submit them to the guild but occasionally some members work together by filming, editing, and critiquing. Occasionally those who aren't working on the film are asked to submit music or other ideas that might make the film more sinister or interesting. They are guild activities run by whomever wishes to lead such a project; and we have a lot of members who love to promote our community as well as reach out to the WAR world! Machiavelli: Each individual member is quite naturally encouraged to express himself artistically, most especially if said expression were to be of benefit to the guild’s notoriety. As it usually happens, individuals piece together their own projects and may decide to ask for feedback from others. There is not a system for it, really: we simply encourage members to spread the corruption of our Uncause (TM Myself) as they see fit—that is, so long as it is done in a manner keeping with our standards of conduct. What kinds of things is the guild most looking forward to doing in the game? Shadddow: EVERYTHING and ANYTHING! You will find the ASC battling on all fronts. Be it PvP, PvE, Raids, Crafting, Scenarios, Taverns, and what have you, we will be a solid influence wherever we decide to roll as a family. Did I say family? It's true, we're a community with no human restraints, built on one common goal: WAR! Machiavelli: We look forward with most insatiable eagerness to the systematic despoiling of all that is Order. Simply put, we desire the trial by fire. We desire to test ourselves, both our members as individuals as well as our overall mode of operation, and continually learn from our experiences, becoming increasingly strong and efficient so as to be an ever-growing scourge that unites the forces of Destruction in the name of killing, also known as having fun. What would you say is the most common misconception about The Unholy Legions of Anti Sanctus Chaotica? Ar'achna: That we're mean little jerks who only want to ruin other people's fun. If they'd read our charter they'd see that's pretty much the only rule we really stress to uphold. I think that might be one of the few reasons to get yourself kicked from our regiment. Kutulu: I think it is very common for gamers to think, because we promote RP, that we will not be competitive in RvR. If they think we will be sitting around talking in Old English, rather that crushing Order and taking keeps, they are sorely mistaken. I have seen many gamers assume that our guild consists of children, when in fact we have many high-schoolers, college students, working professionals and parents. Our demographic diversity is one of our greatest strengths. Shadddow: I simply wish I could paste the threads here where the ASC has been flamed for being "amateurs", "noobs", and "immature". Typically these assumptions are made by the tiny "elite gamer" percentage who feel some superiority over most people. I believe our videos, which are created on the basis of fun and messing around for the enjoyment of whomever, have gotten a lot of flak for being "unprofessional". I scoff at their criticism, who is to decide what is valid and what is not when it comes to community, family, and having fun? We are a guild built upon the stones of loyalty and family ties. Here you can find members of all ages, some married, some in college, others full time employees. We have members from across the globe in more than 10 different countries. We are not biased towards age, race, gender, or sexuality; everyone is welcome to join by our sides on the battlefields of WAR, as we make Monty Python jokes and have a blast. Machiavelli: Most people have the rather understandable but nonetheless mistaken impression that we seek to initiate a hostile takeover of WAR and run the bloody thing our way, PKing, griefing as we see fit like a gaggle of thugs. This is simply untrue, however, as we wish only to be an efficient killing-machine to further the cause of the Destruction races; we wish not only to have fun, but to make the most we can of the experience. Others believe we have no regard for lore whatsoever. This was almost approaching a half-truth at one point, namely when we first encountered Warhammer, but that was simply out of our then ignorant perspectives. Since then, we have immersed ourselves in the rich, albeit a bit trite, lore of this mythos and decided to embrace it wholeheartedly. Our lore corresponds rather nicely, if I might say so, to the cosmogony made by Games Workshop, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. What is your official stance on having bots, gold buyers etc in your guild? Ar'achna: We distance ourselves completely from using such services. If we or anyone else can prove you use such services you can expect yourselves to be booted from our regiment and quite possibly find yourself reported to the proper authorities. Shadddow: Severely looked down upon. We believe that all characters should have a fair chance based on time in game and experience instead of bots and exploits. Buying gold is a tricky line to walk as it's an individual's choice and hard to track. We hope that such things will not interfere with WAR and ASC's communities. Machiavelli: We need someone to practice our torture methods on, so why not them? The WAR Community is extremely large and diverse. Explain what kind of reputation you think Anti Sanctus Chaotica has established in the WAR community. Shadddow: Once a tiny and overlooked guild, we have grown to manage influential fronts on all major WAR forums and threads. We have media outlets ranging from Youtube to Myspace, Facebook and profiles across the world. We have suffered our share of tyrant forum administrators and guilds whose only purpose is to flame other guilds, and in the end came out on top with our reputation and incredible community intact. We've made many friends over past years, and have already begun alliance mediations with other guilds for the release of WAR. It is safe to say that our constantly growing member base, which is nearing the 200 mark, has a directly positive correlation with our reputation in the WAR community. Machiavelli: We are respected by some as a creative, fun-loving, “seeker-friendly” guild that seeks to “play hard” and give this game all that we have. Others see us as self-important, arrogant parasites that latched onto a shiny new game out of boredom or opportunism, much like the “Carpet Baggers” after the Civil War, and who obnoxiously spam the internet with melodramatic ads desperately crying for attention. Our guild member, Zemok, got a beta invite for having his Greenskin story "Gul'ug's Wild Ride" featured in Mythic's February newsletter.
With a shrug and salute to the men about to die, he signalled the Reapers.

New Officers: Announcement of Promotions Congrats to Tzilbalba and Morgan on their recent, well-deserved promotions.
Morgan has been promoted to the position of Ambassador to the Diplomatica Desecratus.
As Ambassador, this makes Morgan our first official liaison to the Diplomatica Desecratus: an alliance of allied destruction regiments.
As the CoW, Tzilbalba is responsible for event planning, community management and RP coordination. He is also head of the Cult of Corruption. According to lore, the cult itself has its origins with the Corrupter of Ways. As such, the cult deals in excess, murder, pride, spoilage of flesh, and mutations. Out of game, the Cult of Corruption will be a RP group based on the inner-workings of the regiment. They will do things such as organize events, help in RP development, assist new members, etc. However they will also be doing multimedia activities such as signature creations, videos, music, etc. The jewel of the Cult of Corruption would be an e-magazine released once per month. This .pdf document would have in game stories, screenshot, fan art, comics, advice columns, etc. From Battle, Death; From Death, Chaos; From Chaos, POWER!
