So, while everyone else was complaining how much Alpha footage sucks, I decideed to take a look at the Atlas video! There's a bunch of names for different zones on there that we've never seen before but alot of it is out of focos. But anyway, I recognised some of the places but not others, I was wondering if anyone famillar with the lore could help me make sense of what the Empire/Chaos Zones are:

Here's a list of names I picked up in the video, I'll rewatch it and add more:

Norisica(Was up north on the map, probably a Chaos Zone. I know nothing about it.)

Nordland(Nord means 'North' in French )

Also, I think I saw Ostland in the Empire part of the map. Ostander Mercinaries appear in the game Mourdheim(which is set in Warhammer Fantasy).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's some info on Ostland: "The Prinicipality of Ostland is one of the sparsely inhabited of all the Empire's Provinces. It's people have more ties with the land of Kislev(a Russian flavored country) to the north than they do to their countrymen to the south. This is because the Forest of Shadows(which is where Wood Elves live, I think) and the Middle Mountains form two natural barriers betwen Ostland and the rest of the Empire. Within the Forst of Shadows are a vast amount of Wild game but also darker creatures such as Chaos Beastmen and Forest Goblins. The Middle Mountains themselves are the highest point in the Empire and their peaks are inhabited by large number of Ogres.

For those who can't read paragraphs: Ostland is basically farming country. Alot of them worship a nature God as opposed to Sigmar, which gives them considerably different flavor than the rest of the Empire.

"Ostland's isolation has greatly shaped it's inhabitants and they are a poor but hardy folk. Each village lives barely above substience levels and usually composed of one large extended familly. The men are tall and broad shouldered while the women tnd to be either tall and whippet thin or short and stout. Married men are usually dirt farmers who also gather roots, tubers(wild vegitables like yams or beets) and nuts in the forest while unmarried men usually spend their lives as trapper and hunters. The worship of Taal, the god of forests and Beats is very popular in the region although there is some worship of Taal's wife Ryha and his brother Ulric(who is the God of Warrior in WH second only to Sigmar for humans) mostly in the western villages."

My favorite paragraph:

"While not warlike by nature, Ostlanders are never opposed to a good honest drunken brawl and with their love of dark ales these sorts of scraps are not uncommon. During the great war against Chaos Ostanders rallied in great numbers to wielf bow and spear in defence of their Kislevite neighbors. More than any other pat of the Empire, Ostland has tasted the lash of Chaos and their hatred of the evil ones knows no bounds."

Funney rules for Ostlanders:

"Nouveau Riche: Ostlanders are almost universally poor. Many Ostlanders have never seen couned money in their entire life and those that do are often overcome with giddiness at the mere sight of wealth. As a result...at least 50% of the remaing goldMUST be spent on a single item of gear. This means that Ostlander Warbands will often be composed of a dozen men wearing muddy peasant gard with one member wearing gold-inlaid heavy armor and another carrying a double barrelled hunting riffle from the finest forgest of Hochland."

Ruffians, an Ostland Unit:

"Although eery Ostlander loves his ale, a few men in every village take this love to extremes. Never Sober and rarely conscious these buffoons stagger their way through the the streets yelling slurred isults at whomever they meet, committing petty acts of vandalism and making a genally making a mess of things....Fulled by vast quantities of booze these are very dangerious, unpredictable men indeed who will shove a borken bottle into your face as soon as laugh heartily and burst into song.

Special Rules:
Drunk: Ruffians are blasted out of their tinney minds on rotgut spirits and cheap ale. As suck they automatically pass all Leaderships test(Ls test are usually taken to prevent a unit from fleeing from battle in cowering after seeing something disturbing) they are required to take.

No Respect: Ruffians are objects of a strange mix of pity and abject fear. They may never lead a warband."

Ostland is also the only human warband that regularly uses Ogres.

Norsca (that's how it's spelled in my old empire army list at least) is where the Norse come from. Vikings in eve, loosely connected with chaos.

Nordland is the province in the upper left of the empire, west of ostland and north of middenland next to the sea of claws.

The areas are:

Tier 1: Norsca and Nordland
Tier 2: Troll Country and Ostland
Tier 3: High Pass and Talabecland
Tier 4: Chaos Wastes, Praag, and Reikland
Capitals: "The Inevitable City" and Altdorf

Here's a map with the areas written in:

Only points missing is the Chaos Wastes and the Inevitable City. The Wastes is to the north and east of this map, while the Inevitable City isn't really marked on any maps as far as I know.
