sorry, but i would prefer to NOT go on another forum and spread spamming and trolling just because some misguided individual do it here. Beside, i think the wow forums are already filled as it is with trolls and spammers, so just let it be

That actually solves nothing, and makes people think we're just fanboys with something to prove.
Do I get angry when I hear "WAR copied WoW"? I sure do. Do I get angry when the Warhammer universe gets referred to as a "WoW clone"? Yep. But I also know, that no matter how hard I yell, and scream, and get pissed off, in the end, it won't change anything. Some people are just ignorant, plain and simple, and that is the root of many problems in society. Oh well. The most you can do is to make Warhammer and the crowd that follows it look better by not reverting into an angry troll everytime the game gets targeted. It happens. Bite your tongue, and move to a different thread. Besides, with rabid, fanatical fanboiism like that, what happens if you're wrong, and the game is of low quality? Put faith into WAR, and the Mythic team, and Games Workshop, but never follow blindly, not anything, lest ye wander over to the dark side that is fanaticism/fanboiism. In other words, chill out. |

So you want to be a clone of the WoW-fanboy we all hate, and start screaming that WoW is a WAR-Clone?

Great, so you want to carry on the childish mentality of said trolls? Did you ever take offense when they said WAR was a WoW clone? They're just ignorant beings.. Don't be like them. It's like throwing fuel on the fire.

Nearly all MMORPGs looks more or less like eachother. In the interface, and such, menu it's hard to use a different interface. Guild Wars and WoW are the only games I have played, but from looking at different games I can see that nearly all has the same interface. MMORPGs are not a new genre and the companies have problems to come up with new ideas, therefore they copy from eachother. |

Tbh, you couldn't be more wrong - WAR begun development in 2004(When Mythic took over from Climax, totaly changed game engine and graphics), WoW was released in late 2004. The Warcraft IP copied the Warhammer IP. Warcraft sticks to it's IP. WAR sticks to it's IP. The reason is to be found at the IP, one being a copy of the other - It has nothing to do with the games at all. |

You are aware of the fact that World of Warcraft is indeed an part of the Warcraft IP, just as Warhammer: Age of Recokning is a part of the Warhammer IP, eh? This is where the 'copy' comes from, the IPs, not the games themself. WAR and WoW look a bit like each other, but the gameplay is so widely different. |

Wasn't the entire Warcraft universe based on other fantasy games/books/series? Face it. Nothing is original anymore. If it's short and hairy, it's probably based on a dwarf. If it has long ears and acts like a snobby jerk, it's definitly based on an elf. The problem with fantasy is that it's been done so often it became bland and generic. Now, WAR has the choice to play goblins. Usually not put as race-of-choice because they don't attract hormone-pumping teenagers. I'll take that as the only original point with pleasure. |

Hmm its tricky to say has a game copied another one, you can say it about any thing really. If we base it upon the game i bet the over all gameplay and obviously the look is totally different! When people moan that the Orc's look exactly the same in their posture, i believe that Game's Work Shop had already had the design for the Orc way before Blizzard even thought about it, just look at the table top game! Game's copy each other get used to it, i don't think at all WAR is a rip off or copy of WoW, there totally different, unlike WoW, Warhammer as a game on the table and RP has alot more indepth and probally won't change there lore like WoW did with *cough* paladin's & shamans :P *cough* overall WAR is not a rip or copy of WoW there totally different! But we will see more in Spring when the closed BETA starts.

The real question should be who the hell cares? Do the influences from other games really effect whether you want to buy WAR or not? Because it certainly shouldn't. If a game is good then it's a good game, it makes no difference whether the company copied another because let's face it, if all companies were forced to only use their own ideas then games would be rubbish. You're all taking it too seriously, I wouldn't feel so stongly against this debate if WAR was basically just the same game as WoW but it isn't, get over this topic and let it die.
