I was excited about warhammer too, but has anybody else noticed that there has been nothing said since EA and mythic joined forces. Look at their website, you'll notice that the last thing posted was in August when EA and mythic decided to join forces. I was checking out their site all summer long looking at the new races and content, however it seems that mythic has gone into hiding about this game, which means that EA is probably doing something stupid by causing a lot of pressure and I'm sure production has either siezed or slowed down a lot.
We don't even know if this game will come out at a decent time, let alone compete with WOW. Blizzard was a lot stronger of a company when it started making WOW and they had a plan. The only other company that is good at moving forward healthy with mmos would be NCsoft. Most people know that EA is not like any of these companys, they want money money money, which results in crap for games. Vivendi doesn't say a damn word to Blizzard about their games. They keep quiet and have full confidence in Blizzard in hope that they won't leave them for another publisher. NCsoft lets their companies like cryptic do their own thing and release it at a reasonable time. EA doesn't work like these other companies, it is evil, just like SOE. It wants to capitalize and makes programmers bitter and frustrated rather than passionate and excited. So EA makes me very edgy on whether or not this game will be good it's old but gives you some insight on EA http://news.com.com/Electronic+Arts+promises+workplace+change/2100-1022_3-5476714.html |

They're probably just too busy to update there site that's expected with EA and development has probably slowed some too naturally because EA I'm sure wants some help from the Mythic crew with UO to help rekindle the game a bit UO is getting a 3D overhaul that's going to be released in january so I'm sure mythic's involved a little on that. I see where your coming from being skeptical about EA though they work there employees like dogs 80 hour weeks and they've had less than stellur results in the mmorpg market cancelling two different UO sequals. I doubt they'll do the same with warhammer though it's got a ton of demand being a established franchise to begin with and the artistic style is appealing to many plus a quality PVP mmorpg I belive is in high demand right now because it's a lacking area in the mmorpg department. It does have competition to worry about though with Darkfall if and or when it's released, but I think warhammer will be closer to DAOC's style of pvp and Darkfall is going to be more like UO's so they'll each have there niche. Oh yeah one more thing mythic also has resources working on fixing and improving daoc as well to worry about. With the way EA thinks they'd probably rather focus more on improving the mmorpg's allready released than the ones in development for finacial reasons even though the companies got plenty of money.

I am watching this game, I have high hopes for it, and will consider leaving WoW for it, if things fall into place correctly. BUT, I must say that not updating the website is an early warning flag. Any well rounded development studio should have someone updating the web site full time. |

I'm sorry, but I hardly swear on any of my forums but.. FUCKING RETARDS!. Look at the whole site, the last news article was about the ea merger, look in the other tabs, they update thier media section once an article comes out, go there and read the empire article and the chaos one if it isn't already there, the websitewas updated about a week ago. The last info that came out about the game was the last two classes for greenskins and dwarfs, and the intro to chaos and empire which was at the end of the month of oct. Mythic releases information monthly, and at this stage of development theres only so much you can release, they supply thier fans with a steady stream of info. So how about you open your eyes >.<.
*edit* Please gather your infio before posting. |

lol no need to curs Shaman.
Mythic doesn't release it's update through news posts. They just update their site, without saying they did, you just have to look for yourself (or look at WARherald, that site mostly says when things get updated). And other then by using their website they give us lots of information through interviews and such. So no need to panic yet, everything is fine. |

Mythic has not updated the site or given any info since the EA acquisition?
I guess that makes all of the newsletters that have been released once every month since said acquisition, all of the screenshot updates, every preview on the internet, and all of the updates since the EA news an illusion then. Wow, thats a pretty good illusion, has me fooled completely. |

Mythic takes it a step farther. Paul himself puts videos from his phone onto the main site every month, and there's a dozen of them, and the majority of them show developers in the Mythic studios that are work on content for WAR. And, Paul has had several interviews as of late, all on new content, including the next racial pairing, Empire vs. Chaos. It's all there, and not that difficult to find. Methinks a certain person hasn't been doing their homework. |

Well, I'm being a nitpick, but Vivendi is the owner of Blizzard. So Blizzard can't really do much to switch publishers. |

the WAR website is updated monthly to coincide with the monthly newsletter Mythic doesnt want to release too many details so other companies can steal their ideas. Many of the "News" type articles are put on the warherald

While I am excited about War, EA leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I am going to let all of you guys buy it first. Then you can tell me if it sucks.

As allready said: the website IS updated regularly. The big updates happen a day or so after each new newsletter.
Coincidentally, the Newsletter comes out at the end of each month, so there will be a major update some time in the next few days. |
