If you've ever tried Everquest Adevnture's, it's a severly dumbed down game of the real EQ. That's what WAR on 360 would bring. Not to mention the fact that every single one of 360 live's online content is 2v2 based and, their only 4v4 game released on launch, was laggy as hell. WAR on 360 would be a travesty with the amount they would cut back on. And even if they release an equal version of WAR for the xbox, how will they release expansions? If at all? If anyone would have done a console version, WoW would have because their gameplay makes the most sense. If BLizz decided it wasn't worth it, what makes you think EA Mythic will think it's worth it? -Syloc Visit My fantasy Blog! http://fantasyglobe.blogspot.com/ |

-Final Fantasy XI, however, was the same exact version, for pc, Ps2 AND Xbox 360. - Maybe you didn't notice, but only people with Hard Disks can play MMorpgs on consoles. this is true for EQOA, for FFXI and would be true for WAR. so they would release expansions exactly they have been doing for normal MMogs, you need to buy a new box that get installed on top of the old one. - Blizzard has NEVER made a console games. Never. Not even diablo. The only console game they were making was Starcraft: ghost and it got canned. Now, however, they are tooling up for next-gen consoles. What tell you we won't see WoW for xbox 360 next year? On the other hand EA, if not Mythic EA, has plenty of experience on all kind of consoles. No, you're ASSUMING it would bring a dumbed down version. You don't KNOW that they will, and trying to assert your opinion as fact only discredits your argument. You should really have more faith in Mythic, because it seems like you think of them as a bunch of incompetant chickens with their heads chopped off. If they wanted to release a console version, then it would most likely be great, simply because of the company behind it. Also..why would you even CARE if it's a dumbed down version? As long as you don't have to play it, you should have no problem with them making it. |

This is just me being picky, but yeah, Bilzzard has made console games in the past. They had a couple releases for SNES/Genesis back in the 90's with Rock n' Roll Racing and The Lost Vikings under their former name of Silicon & Synapse. Same company, different name...they didn't change their name to Blizzard til 1994. Not that that has anything to do with current technology, MMOs, next-gen consoles or this thread, but still...never say never =). |

Blizzard also did manage to release StarCraft for the N64, I was looking over the N64's library yesterday actually and remembered seeing that and I certainly remember playing it on the N64. Blizzard has made some successful console endeavors.

The man has a point. there was starcraft but also diablo 2 for the PS1. i think that blizzard will consider making WoW for the xbox 360.. i dont have a clue how they will make the controls work. because of the several moves that are needed to play. any ideas on how they will map the controlers? F yeah Dudes |

i do wonder how they will do the controls for WoW on the 360 tho. because for example my rogue the amount of moves i have to use to be effective. but also to every race! you have to use all of the moves to be effective but how can you do this with a 6 buttoned controler? F yeah Dudes |

well okay the xbox 360 is great, infact i'm playing call of duty 3 right now, but mmorpgs cannot go to the xbox because of all the chat windows different macros ect and all the different controls you need to use, it would be a miricle if you could even remember them. they are not like shoot em ups where you pull the right trigger to shoot and the x button to reload, its not as simple as that, it would be almost impossible to convert all those different abilities onto the xbox. i'm getting war for sure, and although i'm an xbox 360 addict, im never going to get it on the xbox.

I thought the 360 had ports for a mouse and keyboard. |

Well the 360 does have ports for keyboard and mouse but COD on xbox was laggy as hell last time I tried it. And make no mistake, despite what you may hear about the extra hard drive and the advanced board; the game WILL be the dumbed down version of the game; being that Mythic has a reputation of giving top notch graphics. Also, lest we forget, xbox 360 appeals to a younger generation than a computer does. Sure, we might buy the same things, but if your average 14 year old plays xbox chances are he doesn't have a credit card to subscribe. And then, lets say people are old enough for a credit card. What new audiance would Mythic be appealing to? Those who are willing to spend 14 bucks a month on an MMORPG most obviously would ALREADY have a computer. So why not just subscribe on their computer? So what new customers would they be getting here? Guild Wars, I can see on the xbox. No monthly fee, new audience. But War? Safe to say non-gamers won't be flocking to this game like they do to WoW. It's just that type of game. -Syloc Visit My fantasy Blog! http://fantasyglobe.blogspot.com/ |

PC's are more advanced 90% of the time. So I'd rather not have a console port. Also we use keyboards and mice :p I think mmorpg's have to be dumbed down to be playable on consoles. Lastly, EA Mythic knows that the big cash is in PC gaming as WoW demonstrated, so forgetaboutit, mmorpg's are PC stuff, and will be for a long time to come. If you are interested in subscription or PCU numbers for MMORPG's, check out my site : |

Hmm...I wouldn't mind WAR being built/ported for/to the 360...as long as they keep the 360 version completely separate from the PC version. I only play online from the PC, but if its a great game (which I think WAR will be) then why not let the console community have a crack at it as well.
I do think the two have vastly different communities, although there is overflow each way. So for the most part they should be kept separate. That of course will cost a lot more to develop and maintain (two separate online communities), but if its a hit it will be well worth it. |

aaah, you mean dumbed down as in graphics. Well, where the heck you heard Mythihc having "top notch" graphics? you checked the screenshots? do they look like Oblivion? no? thought so. Beside, the game is always scalable, from bad to best. the Xbox version would fit in the "above average" section of the scale. Put that on a HD huge TV and you have an hell of a show. And guess what? the xbox 360 run oblivion better than all but the most advanced pcs while costing 10 times less. Credit cards are NOT NEEDED for MMorpgs from a while. ever heard of game cards? But the point is: why not? why this hostility toward a console version? what happens if they do one? the world ends? The only problem i can see of a console version would be united servers.... that i hope mythic avoid, but that beside... there ain't negative sides. I hope not, i would really not want to haveto rely on my healer having to heal me in combat when he has to controll his cursor with a thumb pad and takes him 3 minutes to say OOM.
