Really? Feel free to show me anywhere where I said anything of the sort, or even hinted at it. I won't hold my breath though.
I also find it funny how you say it's dying but then say they will never shut it down.

What part of 'Dying' as in ongoing process was too difficult for you to grasp?

I'm bookmarking this thread. Time will tell.

Just because you read something and repeat it doesn't make it so.

EA is laying off TONS of people, Mythic has to be one of them.

There is also this thing called 'the economy' which you should wiki.

EA is one of the largest gaming companies in the world, and downsizing in a recession doesn't mean the company is failing, just that it's trying to prevent failing.

If WAR was a failure, they would have fired everyone and put a stop to the game.

The FACTS are that many people play it and many are coming back.

Although there are many articles talking about this, you only seem to be able to focus on a single negative.

I'm glad you're not a reviewer, or you'd probably get on WAR, play with the character creator for 2 hours and then give it a negative review.

You obviously wouldn't know a good game or RVR if it jumped up and bit you on the rear.

Also, if you get on and post your point of view, you should probably be prepared for others to present an alternative point of view, (especially those who are more informed than yourself).

Time will tell? I've been here for almost a year now, feel free to look up my history of posts and the disappointment that'll come with it.

It's funny how you seem to be going out of your way to claim I'm a hater of some kind or unable to recognize a good game or whatever sort of pathetic defense you seem to be putting up instead of actually simply argue for something.

"EA is one of the largest gaming companies in the world, and downsizing in a recession doesn't mean the company is failing, just that it's trying to prevent failing.

Great, so you have pointed out that the layoffs are due to a larger reason. Bravo. No one denies that. What still remains though is that the company has been suffering several waves of layoffs already in the last year or so (excluding MJ himself). It *has* simply shrunk and shrunk. Smaller team = less results. It's that simple.

Also, if you believe WAR has 300k subs, as you implied somewhere above, you have got to be off your rocker.

Do you remember War? Over 6 months ago? You know, waves of server mergers back? *That* was 300k.

It's funny to see how some fans still lives in the "300k era", when simple maths tells that they're far from those numbers today!

Actually, it was today's article about EA's layoff of 1,500 employees in over a dozen games pointed out that the subs fell from 750,000 to 300,000 subs.

Those were numbers posted today by a reputable source.

Maybe it would do you some good to get out and read the facts, instead of your own failed guesstimates.

If you have more current sub numbers, please post them with your source, otherwise keep your opinions stated as facts where they belong, which is in your own mind.

An *article* from a 'reputable' source, which used the only information that was available to them on sub numbers which was A) The 750k number from the first quarter result after WAR's release  B) The 300k sub number from the second EA quarterly result since release.

This is the 4th quarterly result since release and they have *not* made *any* mention of WAR nor Mythic in this report nor the one before that. Just because he uses 300k now doesn't mean that's what subs are at, only EA knows the current official subs, not some guy writing an article who reiterates what every article about WAR has been saying for the last half year, that subs fell from 750k to 300k.

You also didn't answer the question. No one in their right mind looks back to WAR over 6 months ago and WAR today and still thinks the subs are the same. (or god forbid, higher)

Again, if you have more recent numbers, you can post them.

Obviously you can't or you would have.

People have been quoting WoW's 11 mil subs for how long now? That seems to be good enough.

If 300,000 was the most recent number, then it stands until some new numbers are given.

It's funny how you hate WAR enough that you feel the need to troll the game's forums.

What MMO do you play?

War is a great game, It didn't hold me for a entire year but I came back about two months ago and I'm having a blast. I have characters on Phoenix Throne and Badlands which are both low pop servers. Badlands server is better than Phoenix Throne because of populations. I started a new character on Iron Rock and that server is crazy busy, if your looking for action try Dark Craig or Iron Rock. I have fun on even the lower population servers. The PvP in War is fun as hell, and better than any other game I've played.

Arguing with these people is a war of futility, they know there right and post just to raise post count. I couldn't care less if the games dying, I'm having fun right now, this game is not what I live for and not worth arguing about.

Ahhh, there's the hate drum again. Tis funny how adamant you are about that. Not that it's any of your business but I play no MMO's at the moment.

Also, quoting one flaw doesn't make another flaw correct.

Also, although 'officially' the numbers stand at 300k, are you seriously claiming the people who play(or not) are supposed to take your word for it, or totally dismiss their own experiences of what happened to the game in the last 6 months and just resort to 'Ow it's still 300k because EA hasn't said anything else since then'.

Please, get some sense of reality. We're not talking official numbers here since the last official number so far back it's useless. The silence from EA in itself is a sign they don't want to release the latest numbers. Empirical evidence by countless actual players who've actually lived through the last 6 months is proof enough for them (and for me) that this game is nowhere near where it was back over half a year ago.

Unless of course you are one of those dreamers hoping there's some foreign country somewhere where they released the game and the pop is thriving, explaining the subs 'still' being at 300k even now despite what happened in the US/EU?

If the game still had 300k subs you can bet Mythic wouldn't have been hit anywhere near as bad as they have been.

Yea, who would want to talk about numbers that don't jive with their own argument? lol

It's hilarious that you don't even possess the testicular fortitude to name your own MMO.

It speaks volumes about you, and I will no longer be trolled by an obvious WoW fanboy.

Have a nice night! ;D

It's funny how you chose to check his history yet I'm the one you called a WoW-fanboy.

I guess it's easier to do the ones that "Jive" with your own argument?

Is there something difficult about the concept that I'm not playing a MMO currently or is the only way you can fathom someone disagreeing with you that he has to be a WoW fanboy?

Also, last I looked (1 hour ago or so) I *was* talking about the numbers, just not in the way you seem to want to hear. There's nothing wrong with my argument, which seems to be enforced by the fact that you didn't point out anything wrong with them to begin with, instead you went on the fanboi assault rather than continue to discuss it.

You still didn't answer the basic question either.

Do you believe the game currently has 300k Subs? And if so, how do you justify that comparing today to the game over 6 months ago?

Or are you just here to 'troll'?

Go right ahead. A 207 page history of posting almost exclusively here with a few rare outsteps to the WoW forum and maybe the Aion forum a few times.

Don't forget to link those posts where I actually recommend people to play WAR so they can see for themselves whether they like it. Or how I never say WAR sucks or some such similar things.

Heck I highly doubt I even said WoW was 'GREAT' in any of those threads you speak of from the last few months, although I may have said I liked the concept of Cataclysm (redoing the old world).

Ow I'm sorry? Did I miss you actually talking about WAR and what we were talking about? What was it again? Ow yeah, the question about subs.

Ow. No I didn't miss it

Did you have any more trolling to do or are you ready to actually discuss the topic you were making such adamant claims about before you went on your fanboy assault?

I rejoined war about a month ago and have been having a blast.  You people write off mmo's after one year and that is just dumb.  Do some research in to what Warhammer is and you'll see that there is plenty of room for expansion and improvement.  Some of you just sound like spoiled kids who got in to the genre through wow and think you know what you're talking about.  Go back to your lame ass xbox.

Of course the IP leaves plenty of room for expansions and such. But without a company behind it, the game won't expand into any direction.

If not even the original stuff was able to pull of a decent game (way before the recent lay offs and things) , how should the remains be? Yes, some warhammer-fans still hope that the Bioware guys will take over and make it the promised game...but i doubt that it'll ever happen.
