Hahaha - what's your point? Tons of people have unsubbed after the free month ran out whether you choose to believe it or not. I never said it was going to be abandoned over night - but you chose to ignore that fact. And like I said - I am subbed to neither game - but have played WAR previously as well as Aion and went ahead and unsubbed. Work on the reading comp. And I got a good "lol" from you posting the server capacity - the game can change that number to their liking anytime they want.
As someone who actually plays Aion on mulitiple servers, I'll just clarify to all those who are discussing but not playing the game. It is a busy, friendly user base will loads of players still running round enjoying the world in the first payed month. MMO Parley - Debating, one world at a time. |

The lynch mentality clearly comes from the wrong hype with which Aion was sold to the community in the west. It had a supposed 3.5 M Asian subscribers (a plain lie) and it "killed" WOW in the east (at a time when WOW was forbidden in China for 7 weeks). That sentence above made people curious. Now it backfiires. Add to this the obvious fact that AIon (together with AdD on line) has a HUGE oversampling on Xfire, tx to the NCSoft cooperation and "selling" of the game with Xfire installed (!) on the Xfire website is making people angry. What? IS this ALL there is to take us by the nose? IS this the state of the industry anno 2009? Killing 9000 PVE monsters to level from 40 to 41 needing .... 40.000.000 and 1 experience points to reach to a new level where you'll need 42.000.000 and 2 experience points ? It is quite obvious why a lot of people take out that rope.... umm wrong about china closing down WOW for 7 weeks. Actually they passed a law to disallow minors in their country to play games that have killing. that is all... in fact i know of 5 americans who are in china that still play WOW china. and there are roughly 5-6 million WOW players in China by the way. and to the others talking about GRIND... grind meaning it is more then usual gameplay... meaning yes you can grind quests in an NCSOFT game why because the grind they do is not a typical North american MMO grind. its far worse.. its teh way the koreans like it. Hell they toned it down for North americans and its still too grindy |

Lineage, Lineage 2 come to the top of the list as most grindy |

Guild Wars was NCsoft. Guild Wars was only published by NCSoft, it was developed by Arenanet. |

I stand corrected. Back to WAR however, I'm thinking of having a go when it goes F2P. Does it stand up to more recent and more popular MMO's? MMO Parley - Debating, one world at a time. |

If it goes F2P, it'll be the best F2P game out there. I personally wouldn't pay for a sub now though. You should check out their main site, they're lifting the time limit on free trials (they may have already done this) so you can play in T1 as much as you like, which in my opinion is where the game really shines. That and T2. |

A shame really, I had fun for a while. So much potential gone to waste. |

i for one left aion, they scammed people by putting in the recurring 1 month subscription before the end date. I got screwed with an extra month, i made it to level 39. The game world is very small, and the leveling 1-50 is extremely dry and boring. The pvp is probably one of the worst setups i've ever seen, the wings were a cool idea but they're the main reason abyss pvp sux its way to easy to run away. Nobody wants to die in pvp because you lose abyss points so everyone runs away, honestly the best way to farm abyss points is through pve. Not to mention the terrible customer service, and the VAST amounts of bots in that game. There are literally more bots then human players leveling, lots of the aion players didn't want to deal with teh boring leveling 1-50 so they invested in bots. These are realistic comments, Aion will suffer the same fate as WAR and AoC overhyped games that WoW burnouts won't take hold of. I'm not saying it will die, but it will only cater to a niche market |

If I remeber Lineage 2 was a huge grindfest and the game did well for a very long time in the US. Aion is like Lineage 3 with much better interface, polish, and much more content to reduce the grinding. Right now Im playing the game and the grind is no worse than city of Heroes with much much more variety. I doubt Aion will do any worse than Lineage 2 ever did. I expect it to do twice as well, as a matter of fact. |
