So if you read April's news letter you know Warhammer: Condemned By Fire will have a scatch off, giving you a 1 in 5 chance to be invited into closed beta. 

Does anyone know when this book will be in comic stores?

Also is anyone sure how this will work?  At first I thought I would buy 10 copies and get into closed beta, then i read some more and I am under the impression that you can only enter 1 code and then on May 31, 2008, a lottry will be run for everyone who entered a code.  Anyone?

I've been asking the same question. I've had the book on pre-order since the newsletter was sent out and I called my comic shop on Sunday. He said it wasn't in the works for this week and he didn't see it on the distro list for next week either.

As far as the keys go, I was under the same impression but I think it's a lottery system. My best guess is you enter the code and then after the deadline they will randomly pick 20% of the codes to enter beta.

You can't enter Every Key you can only Enter 1 of the keys so ordering 10 copies doesn't do anything for you.  

Its not a scratch and Win Scenario you scratch they give you a Key..you enter the Key..they look to see if your PC meets specs and you possibly get in.

If you dont have an High End PC you'll be waiting a while.

I guess you could make 10 accounts and enter 1 key per account but its possible that disqualifies you...I decided that its not worth it personally.

I called my comic book shop yesterday and he said they were not in.  I did see a few postings where people were claiming they were in, this is the internet however, and people make shit up. The Boom website listed it as "coming in the first week of may"..... I take that as last week, but meh.

I received my 3 copies in the mail on Monday.  I entered one code into my preexisting beta account, and created two new ones.  Sadly, you don't know if you have a winning code (1/5 shot) when you enter it.  It's complete bs, if you ask me.  By not knowing if you have a winning code, you'll be more likely to buy more codes.  It's a cheap scam.  They should say upon entry: "Winner (if your rig meets qualifications)" or "Loser, try again."

I just ordreed four copies directly from BOOM.  I am only using 1 of the codes a giving the other three codes to friends.  I sent BOOM a quick email through their 'contact us' link and asked when they expect to ship the comic.  They responded less than an hour later with :

We hope to have these shipped out by the end of this week or over the weekend.

That's what my account now reads after putting in the code... really wish they'd imply whether your code was a "good code" or a "losing code"

Placed my order with BOOM 2 days ago.  Just got an email from them that my order has been shipped!!

I am hoping my specs are up to par and that 4 in 5 others entering this contest are not, increasing my chances for enterence!

I ordered a few as well. If more than one wins ill find some way to give them out on mmorpg.com.

I don't know why people are acting so surprised that you can only enter one code.  It seemed abundantly clear to me that this would just be another association.   The deadline is May 31, so I assume that on or around that date they will randomly select 20% of the code holders to enter beta pending machinery requirements.

It's only 4 bucks, and hopefully a decent comic.  Hopefully my local shop gets mine in this week.

sounds like another money grabbing scam to me. Remember last year when Mythic announced at Gameday Baltimore that all attendents would receive BETA access by the end of the summer (2007). Well, yeah I entered my Baltimore code as soon as I got home and I'm still not in. Just another empty promise to get people to purchase Warhammer products.
