Hi. I hate WoW. I know about the Warhammer tabletop game. Been dabbing at it before WoW was even a though.

Not sure about NOW, but I know watching the earlier Warhammer Online beta videos, it looks exactly like WoW. Of course it doesn't say anything about the gameplay. Just wanted to let you know all people who says WAR looks like WoW isn't a "Fanboy".

I am sick of the WAR fanboys who believe WAR is 100% original and that WH created orks, elves, dwarfs etc. create stylised graphics and created the Interenet.

If you honestly dont believe that WARs development has not been heavily influenced by WoW then you need to get out more.

The funniest part about all the WAR is just WOW threads is, alot of us have played wow, and hate it.........yet we are excited about WAR. Call me a fanboy I really dont give a crap. I dont like wow, I am verry excited about WAR. Makes no sense I would be looking forward to one if it was a carbon copy (which is what clone means) of the other.

Its all good though. I like playing with mature people who can think for themself. Thoes of you that swear WAR is a WoW clone are not the type of people I want to share my gametime with and hopefully since you think they are the same, I wont have to put up with you.

Well yes ofcourse they have. But its not a WoW clone. Its not the same universe either.
Mythic uses an terrain that they know will work and can handle a couple of hundreds
on the RvR Field and not crash because many people does not have AOC computers :)

WoW where heavily influenced By Warhammer also.
so I dont realy know what some Wow boys are complaining about.

Warcraft borrows from Warhammer and Warhammer borrows from Warcraft

Yes I know but I wrote Grownupstyle because thats what I came up with when I where writing the thing :)

funny thing is everyone forgets that EVERYTHING is based off books and myths written between the dawn of time and (roughly) 40 years ago.  everything from classes to races to worlds to quests, its all taken from books and ideas that others have created years and years ago.

all these stupid debates over who copied who is irrelevent and stupid unless you state a time period for your comparison.  WoW copied Warhammer  if you are taking the past 20 years as your comparison timeframe.  they both copied storytellers and books if we take anything over 40 years.  they both copied DnD if we take a 30 year timeframe.

Seems to be a trend for the WoW fanboi kiddies to put down any other new game than WoW coming out.

AoC has been constantly bombarded by these children and have been angering us over on the AoC forums now for over a month. Now, we are labeled as "evil" and "immature" simply because we are flaming every single WoW fanboi who comes into our forums proclaiming their 4yr old game's superiority over a new-not-even-out mature and graphic game.

WoW = FAIL

AOC = FTW

WAR = FTW

OK, so this topic has been brought up a dozen times before in these forums, OP doesn't seem to realize that so might as well play along.

First, there's no reason to assume that the people calling WAR a WOW clone are all WOW fanbois.  I'm sure some are, but just as many are WOW haters, and hence they bash WAR because they feel it brings nothing new to the table.

I myself watched the Mexican standoff video the other night, and had to say, you know, I see why people think it looks like WOW, it really sort of does.  Sure, I can see the differences, but the similarities are there and of course people make the comparison.  This isn't a bad thing btw, unless of course you hate that graphical style. (which many do).

BTW, in the video I was impressed with the smoothness that the characters moved, the combat looked fun, and other than it appeared people were jumping back and forth between a pvp and no pvp zone, (reminded me of the Tauren Mills days in WOW) it really made me want to play WAR.

Who cares what other folks think about WAR?  I'm going to play it no matter what, that I'm sure of.

Having played DAoC myself, let me just say that you are in for a surprise if you expect WAR to be the true spiritual successor of DAoC....

You should really avoid making such threads if all you know about a game comes from hype and carefully picked footage and developer infos. It is of course perfectly fine to have high hopes for a game - but you can not claim superiority for a game that you have not even tested yet. Believe me, there are people on these boards who have a much more educated opinion on WAR.

The one thing i hope they bring to WAR from DAoC is /stick

i dont care if people disagree. its a imo thing. it makes people actually go toe to toe with eachother and win/loss is depending on your choice of armor, class, and skills. as in wow where alot of it is just dependant on who has better FPS. Jumping around like an idiot isnt a skill!

ya know what we called people back in the day who ran around the world constantly hitting the jump key? n00bz :P

Funny, that's the same i call them in WoW and I assume the the same would hold true for the people that actually believe that jumping actually makes a difference in WoW like all these people claiming so.

Would it piss the WoW fanboys if I said that WoW was an Everquest clone? I mean it did come out before WoW alongside UO and I think it was the first 3d MMO, UO being 2d right? Anyways just because something shares similarities doesn't mean its a clone.

Edit: Oh I forgot about Diablo 2 but I don't think its consider an MMO though. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Actually... your assumption is incorrect. I think the people complaining about WAR being similer to WoW are actually WoW Haters, not Fanbois... who are thusly afraid to go near anything that smells even remotely like WoW. And to them WAR smells like WoW, and anyone who can't understand how one would arrive at the position is just silly, I mean Warcraft was based on Warhammer after all.

Perhaps instead of just crying about how stupid people are, you should focusing on what WAR brings to the table, because honestly, I haven't seen a damned thing in these forums that is not either AoC bashing, or calling people who compare WAR to WoW stupid without providing anythin
