Alright, well I pre-ordered the collectors edition of WAR a few days ago. This of course allows for open beta and early entry access. So, today about a few minutes ago, GameStop finally e-mailed me back, I was getting excited. I open the e-mail, and here is what it reads:

My mouth dropped open, I was like "wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute! ... What?" I've now replied back to them, asking if this was a mistake. And the funny thing is, is that I supplied them with my Order #, and I even replied with the actual order invoice. How the heck did they mistake Warhammer Online with Age of Conan? Well, I now have an Age of Conan key, unless they somehow make it unusable after this.

It just made me laugh, but I hope I get my WAR keys. Ugh.

HAHA and I got pissed cause I had to hound and hound them for my keys........at least I got the right ones....I feel for ya, believe me I do.

Hmm seems to be marketing genius on the part f AoC. Not only do they get their own fanbois but by sending in corporate Ninjapirates they are substituting preorders of their rivals with their own preorder codes.

Damn that's nice. Now you will, most likely, get a WAR trial key and an AoC one! Must feel nice for you. We all love when someone does a minor "screw-up" resulting in you gaining an additional benefit.

Small update,

GameStop hasn't gotten back to me yet.

And I will admit, today I did try to use the AoC key just for shits n' giggles, and to my surprise, it said: "This key was not found, or is already in use." The AoC key, I'm not sure about it yet... I thought it was deactivated, but I think I entered it in the wrong site...oops (I'm retarded). The registration site seems to be down for maintenance right now though. We'll see.

It is the standard pre order which does not allow beta access.  It allows the in game item AND 3 days early access.  No open beta mentioned, although you would get to play on the 17th rather than the 20th  

Do not register the key or you wont be able to return your purchase (I'm assuming....I don't order games online from gamestop).

Yes, I am fully aware it isn't an AoC Beta key (Look up there a bit, I mentioned that I entered it in the wrong site, I forgot the key wasn't for beta...). However, the Warhammer Online Collectors Edition is for Open Beta, which is what I'm after. But, someone at GameStop had no idea what they were doing, or they did it purposely for some reason I don't know. Really though, I was kidding about using the AoC key indefinitely, I could care less. I just tried it before to see if it was actually valid or not. The thing that gets me, is the fact that the first time I replied, it was with the invoice attached. And I even included the order number, just so they wouldn't mess up. Lo and behold, they did mess it up!

I thought about maybe drawing out a diagram for them in Paint, or even draw them a pretty picture of the correct game, instead of the typed out order number in the email. I'm just really stumped on how they mixed up Age of Conan and Warhammer Online. They even had the order number and invoice, which I think shows them the name of the product on their end. Right? I'd hope so. I'm thinking this is some weird marketing trick as someone mentioned, I actually agree with that. Now, I'm not bitching about this or anything, I am just really stumped on GameStops stupidity. I can be patient.

I'll wait for GameStops reply, and see if they correct it this time. Unless, of course, they send me a Hello Kitty Online beta key or something, then I'll think about it.
