ArchLord News - RMT / Bot Tackling

Posted by Jon Wood on Nov 07, 2006  | 7 comments in our forums

The Support Team over at ArchLord is assuring its players that they are taking steps to remove RMT and Bots from the game.

They are offering players who have bought from RMTs to come forward under a one week amnesty. Players who fail to do this will be subject to harsher punishments.

Dear Players,

As you are aware, like in many MMO's, we have seen the beginnings of an RMT element in Archlord, I am posting to put your minds at ease on the situation.

Some players have been claiming we (AD and CM) have been ignoring the issue, this couldnt be farther from the truth, myself along with key staff having been investigating all reports and linking them to related accounts and known websites/ebay Sellers, we do this to ensure we get as many of the involved accounts as possible.

As a result of these investigations we have banned numerous accounts, including, but not limited to - those of various Ebay and website RMT Groups

This is just the beginning, We urge players to remember just because they do not see immediate actions, it doesn't mean we are ignoring the issue, some cases require us to discretely investigate groups, where a public acknowledgement of them would just cause the group to take defensive measures making the investigation harder, this is why we request players report suspected RMT or Bots via the support system and not in public.

We are evaluating these and other sellers to identify buyers, therefore just like we did with RFO, We will run a 1 week amnesty for players who have purchased from RMT groups/individuals in the past, if you send information on your purchases to archlord@codemasters.com, including the name of the character who supplied the gold/items, and the eBay/website link of the Seller and your account name, we will not take any action on this occasion, however your account will be noted to have purchased, and any future offenses will take this into account. Any info provided will be kept private for internal use only.

Anyone failing to provide info who is discovered to have purchased Currency or items will face sanctions as per the EULA and TOS.

Any future buyers/sellers will be dealt with fully, this post is also a final warning to all players who choose to buy currency or items to cease this activity.

We thank everyone who has assisted us with info and reports, and request that you keep working with us to ensure Archlord remains Bot and RMT free.

Archlord Support Team
