ArchLord News - Double XP, Double Drop Weekend

Posted by Keith Cross on Nov 22, 2007  | 7 comments in our forums

Codemasters has announced that Archlord players will benefit from double experience and double drops starting Friday and continuing until Monday afternoon.

Codemasters are pleased to announce that all players will be able to benefit from a Double Drop and Double Experience weekend from 1.30pm Friday 23/11/07 until 1pm Monday 26/11/07 on all worlds.

This is a huge opportunity for players of all levels to make some big steps forward with their characters. Whether you just want to gain levels, build up some money or hunt for rare drops this event is a great chance to do it.

As always the Chantra store will be open enabling players to experiment and find ways of using the Chantra item and double drop/experience event to the maximum of potential.

The game is not worthwhile trying other than on a casual basis. It is so riddled with bugs it's not funny. Practically no support from Codemasters, no patches to fix things, any patches the game has had have made things worse. We as a guild are still waiting for the promised real life Archlord Armour for being the first ever Archlord, just as a competition winner from over a year ago is still waiting for his promised custom PC case for winning the "name the servers" competition. No response from Codemasters on any of these issues whatsoever.

The servers are borked, with unplayable lag for most, double xp weekends are an absolute nightmare with the servers being unable to cope with a few hundred extra players. Items randomly disappear from your character/inventory. Chantra items (paid for in real $$'s) disappear and become stuck/unusable, most people are not being compensated for them.

Seiges are a joke. The servers usually crash 10mins before a seige then 90% of the people supposed to be taking part cannot get logged back in because the login server also messes up.

In short, avoid this game at all costs unless you are willing to play a game that shouldn't even be out of beta, never mind have been retail for over a year.

Spot on Kabaal. Anyone thinking of starting this game don't bother, you will be so frustrated because of the lag and bugs and ZERO support/communication from CM. CM only communicate when events such as double xp are on because they want people to buy chantra. <Mod edit>

The two posters above me are absolutely correct about this game. Codemasters actions concering this game have been criminal thus far. The whole thing is a nightmare. Do yourself a favor and pass on trying this title.

Codemasters has no idea how to run an MMO. They have little to no communication with the developers of the game. It's been one big screw up after another. The worst attempt at an MMORPG I have ever seen, not to mention their business practices are extremely shady.

+1 Stay away from this bugged and not supported ''free'' MMO.

Look at this before you register for an account.

Okay, not going to defend the game cause I think it's rubbish too, but about the missing cash shop items.. support have said there is a queue of people still to do so not sure why anyone wouldn't get their items back.

Unless perhaps they are one of the thousand odd people who buys in-game gold from the RMTers and then purchases Cash Shop items directly from other players so they can get it cheaper than from Codemasters.

Only people who aren't getting their items back are the ones who promote the gold farmers and cheating & exploiting. So many of the players in AL cheat it's unreal, and then they have the nerve to complain about the state of the game.

Morons.

I have only bought chantra items from Codemasters. I supported them and when it's time  to return the favor they say screw it. When they made a mistake that gave us chantra they fixed it immediately. When it's the other way around it takes a "lot of time". Ok, sure.

I agree with everyone who has posted on this game.

This game has alot of potential.  But it just plain sucks in so many ways.  Customer support absolutely sucks.

The drop rate has now been reduced to next to nothing, making it harder on new players to ever have anything decent.

Gold sellers/RMT have been banned as of now, fixing some of the spam problems, however the in game economy is so screwed up, you'll be lucky to ever have anything decent.

Don't even bother trying to socket your own weapons after level 29.  The failure rate is seemingly about 85 percent.  I am not exaggerating a bit.

I have been playing MMORPGS since sierra made "The Realm", and I've never seen a game that is so slow to respond to the needs of its players.

Simply put, after thousands of posts on the forum, Codemasters (AKA Can't Masters) Simply does not care about its players.

If you do decide to play this game, don't bother wasting your money on Chantra Credits (aka real money in game items)  The advantage they give you is next to nothing.

PVP in this game can be fun, until you get killed repeatedly in one hit over and over by a character who is 10 levels lower than you with gear costing more money than you'll ever have.

I don't recommend this game....at all.
Toon town puts this game to shame.

Yes, it is that bad.
