I dont think that this is much like L2. They do have some good similairitys but then there are alot of differences in the endgame content.

Well when i first looked at the screenshots the contrast and color of the game looked similiar to Lineage 2 but once you accauttly read up on the information of the game, and noticed other situations such as the kick ass armor you get to wear and the multiple mounts that you get to ride.. Its not the same at all, and of course PVP will be 5x better than lineage 2 could hope for. I'm hoping for the best!

yea the pvp in this game will be much better than that of lineage 2 from what has been said. and im hoping that there wont be anything like the "soulshots" like there is in lineage.

I'm curious as to why the PvP will be better as I've not seen anything that indicates that it will be any different? There is still a 3% xp loss on death.

Well if you even take some time to search for the Korean Archlord you will be able to see the pvp for yourself. Although this isnt officle since its not the English Version... It will still be very close to what we can exspect to see in our version

Waiting For: Guild Wars 2, and Elder Scrolls Online.

I'll do that, thanks.

Though I wonder if there is a karma system like L2. In some ways that is good... and in some ways... not so much.

the biggest diffrence will be the PVE. Archlord will be more traditional western, quest based gameplay. where Lineage 2 really had a heavy korean grind.

What will the PvP in Archlord be like?

Also, L2 has more races, 5 unlike Archlord with 3.

Indeed, well put.

Although I can understand that there may be questions about many different aspects of the game, such as the buy/sell scheeme, leave comp on all night? or place item in sell/buy store for all to see?. Do you get armor set bonuses? Do you get SA on weapons? Do you have max cap in clans? Do you have clanWH and can every1 access it? etc etc etc....

Just wait for the beta, be patient, all will be revealed soon enuff.

I wouldn't count on those major differences :)

As codemaster want to keep the original shape of the game... tho becoz us western people are abit less patient u could say, or at least we don't like to grind like koreans one of the major differences will be the time it will take you to lvl :)

But, since i guess it's very likely too that NHN (the korean developer) will be patching the game and codemaster will just be translating and making slight differences... The game will be quiet similar to the original korean version... But still the game will ROCK :D

yeah koreans tend to be sado-masochistic when they play their games. i like to work for my level myself but unlike koreans i need a bit more reward and gratificatiion with my level breaking. im not so much impatient like most people, but i dont like tearing into the 10,000th baren wolf mongrel  to make lvl 40 to get new armor. and then kill some more stuff. i like variety. i like immersion. koreans are content in killing a 100,000 beo wolf puppies lol. im not.

That really, really sucks that there is a death penalty.  I can't even believe some games still do this!  Challenge is one thing, but actually sapping time away from someone because they died?  It's awful!  I mean, it's TIME!  You play, then die, then it's like you never played, and your time was entirely wasted.  Hm.  Don't think I'll ever play another game with death penalties again.  You have to seriously hate your player base to do that.  And you have to have absolutely no regard for your own life and time if you enjoys death penalties, haha.  Didn't these people learn anything from WOW?  Fun = Success.  I don't want to have an xp loss that costs me an hour of my life just because the doorbell rang and I had to deal with the dreaded 'RL', you know?  I just doesn't make sense.

The point of a death penalty is to make people think twice before making hasty actions. A game loses a little fun value when everybody can run around Rambo-style with guns blazing, only to go crashing down in a scorching burst of flames, which leads to a quick respawn and a repeat of their previous actions. With a death penalty people can't be "stupid" on purpose, especially at higher levels when -3% is a big deal.

Yeah, but as for death penalties, dying sucks!  It sucked even in WOW, when you had to miss out on the fun for a bit and get your body the run and heal...that really blew!  But losing xp?!  C'mon!  That's TIME!  Wasted time!  And yeah, on higher lvls that could mean hours and hours!  Can you imagine?  Hours?  GONE??!!  What if you're at this crazy part and then a fiend pops by or pizza arrives and if you stop playing you'll die and lose hours of your life, instantly!
Games have to permit that RL is going to happen, not punish you for it.  When I played L2 for the short itme I played it, you couldn't go to the bathroom, get a drink, talk to your girlfriend on the phone, nothing!!! Causeif you did, you'd die, and lose (yep, I'll say it again) HOURS of your life.  I don't mind sinking hours into a game as long as I advance, as it's fun.
Here is what it all comes down to.  When I died in L2, I was frustrated, exasperated, angry, annoyed, even furious sometimes.  My afternoon, gone.  My night, gone.  My time spent playing, never existed.  Sorry I didn't go with you to the movies friends, instead I played a game with a death penalty.  I died three times and its as if I never even played!  In fact, it's like I never even played yesterday when I didn't hang out with you then either!  Yep, I know, I'm wasting my life here!
When I died in WOW, I said "Holy crap, haha, that guy got me good!  Ha..wow..he really hit me hard there!  Ok, alright, lets get him back...or not, either way, I'm moving forward, right?

You see my point, I hope.
Many things can be done to discourage players from doing dumb things, xp loss was a really, really stupid idea to impliment this.  It robs you of your time, and therefore, your life.  It robs you of your time, and there fore your life.  See?  How did you like reading that line over again?  About 50 times more than I like re-gaining a damn lvl cause my phone rang!

Played L2 for one agonizing month.  Same goes for everquest, Final Fantasy (really wanted to like that one) and every other death penalty game before I said, What the hell am I doing wasting my time like this?!
Played WOW for a blissful year.  I loved adventuring, loved pvping--heck, I even loved dying a few times.   They wanna stop players from doing dumb things?  Well guess what?  I want to stay and fight it out with my friend against overwhelming odds and maybe have a laugh and a good story to tell because we lost--not sit back, exasperated, and wonder...what could I have been doing the past few hours instead of playing this game that just robbed that time away?

A dreaded question, I know.  Death penalties are dumb.  If you cherish your life/time, which I do, they cannot be abided, even 3%.  These companies make big money, and they are obviously creative people.  Think up somethign better than this cruel, cruel, antiquated device.  WOW left it out, and they seem to be doing ok.  Sold a few copies of their game, I heard.  Could it be...?
