A Tale in the Desert announced today that it would be hosting a "Welcome Back Weekend" for all former ATITD players. This was done in response to a recent jump in players for that particuler game. The offer starts today and is open for any past players of the game who would like another crack at it.

Citizens of Egypt, I thought this would be a good time for a newsletter. Last week, FilePlanet featured A Tale in the Desert on their front page, and over 1300 new players have arrived on Welcoming Island. Many of these folks have now joined A Tale in the Desert, and so I thought a really great event would be a "Welcome Back Weekend" for any ATITD veterans taking a break from the game. So, we'll do that starting this Friday, 12:00 Noon EST (GMT-0500), running through Sunday afternoon. As always, no credit card needed, just log on and meet up with old friends. It will be a very busy weekend... Long, long ago in Egyptian History (during ATITD 1), there was Kemet - a separate German-language-only telling. Though small in number, the pioneers of Kemet overcame tremendous odds to build a single monument that stands to this day in the desert of Nile Delta. This "Ancient Monument of Worship" is inscribed with a challenge known as the Test of the Holy Shrine. Our generation will face that Test, this Saturday at 12:00 Noon EST (GMT-0500). I always say that a good way to celebrate anything is by eating and drinking too much, so also on Saturday beginning around 1:00PM EST (GMT-0500), we'll be having the first ever Egyptian Mutton Festival. This event is competitive, but in a way unlike anything we've ever done. I'll have a detailed explanation of the rules as the event starts. The prizes - awarded to both chefs and gourmands - are rare and valuable Cucumber seeds. I hope everyone will join me in consuming huge quantities of mutton this weekend!
