As I cannot make a character and thus cannot write to the official forum, let's try here.

I have downloaded the game and the latest patches. When I start the launcher and try to start the game Silkroad Guard starts and Guard's logo/loading screen flashes on screen. And then nothing.

Running a Win XP. Should not be a firewall issue. Latest ATI drivers installed. The Data Execution Prevention trick didn't work.

Help would be much appreciated.

This seems to be a common problem. I solved it finally by uninstalling my antivirus - software.
