I want to say stop playing  or don't even try to install this shit.

I've played this game more than 1 year. I watched every cap raising, killed many unique mobs, made 74++lvl...

1 year ago, that game was awesome. No traffic, no freezes, no dc-s, no botters, no bugs...
And now this game is dead ! The best SINGLE PLAYER MORPG hahaha ! Only u and thousands of bots haha
GM-s don't even try to log in and say "hello, how are you?". Only stupid auto messages "Don't give acc infor... blablabla". fu**
Bugs everywhere and Bugs every update.. yeah every update ! Some time ago they made  event..client updated and ... omfg wtf !!! Items and char stats decreased ! Ok tell me how dumb ppl can be? Santa mufflers and job items bugged since August 2006, "???" error in cities... and more, more.

To all new players who want to play this game.
U'll try to log in everytime at least 15min.
U'll get disconnect later.
U'll get freezes on hunting and die few times per day.
U'll get failed,failed,failed,failed in alchemy.
Many times u'll see racism texts.

My overall rating for this game is -1/10
Minesweeper is much better

Yeah i played Silkroad until i got to about 16 or 17 on Oasis, the quests took forever, they had mediocre rewards and OK xp. It seemed like everyone was so independent and isolated to them selves. the only fun i had was with those capes you could wear and fight other players. It is definitely one of the most fun but also the most frustrating out of all the other FREE MMO's, it could use a lot better tech service along with better servers.
Overall i would rate this at maybe a 4-5/10 but seeing as how i only got to about lvl 17 you might call this rating incomplete

O.o I dont play it anymore too, but we gotta agree with one point. Silkroad gives more fun than other free mmos (if you can log in). Silkroad cant be peaceful and funny like before it was. Stop complaining about this shitty game and play something different. I've been searching for a while but i couldnt find anything. It would be nice if you make a suggest.

P.S: i like solitaire most.

Oh come on GameMasters are doing their best to keep bots out.

Look at those 8-9page lists that has names of banned bot users from each server.

Also when I connect in the game I also stay connect, no more disconnecting.

Also it is lag-free for me thesedays. Used to be  horrible.

And about racism, every game has it. The game still has some mature players left, you just can't find them so easy.

And about alchemist stuff, you should use items with 6/luck and 6/immortal when you use elixirs after +3.
Also lucky powders.. You easily get to +3 without the 6luck items but after that its bit hard...

Yea well also those astral things are usefull. Shame that such a nice game was ruined by hackers.. (Yet another game)

Every game does have its ups and downs, and this is a good game for a F2P. But its really nothing special from my experience, the graphics are mediocre compared to now a day games, and gameplay is almost the same as every other fantasy MMO give and take a few things. and anyways what are good graphics to you if you cant even log into the game and play? Overall this can be a fun game if you really have nothing better to do, and i would recommend this game to any group of friends just looking to kill some time and have fun for free!

"Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves." - Confucius

i downloaded this game a week ago it took an hour and i thought it looked great ,
made an account then tried to log into a server ...
Every server was crowded so i decided to try again the next day...
when i started it the next day it was still crowded
after a week i haden't played a single time couse the servers was crowded...
so i uninstalled the game and moved over to Shadowbane
and is still playin...
But damn JoyMax should do something about the F%¤"ing BOTS

My advice DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS GAME!!!

Your right about people staying to themselves.  When u say hi usually they would just run away without saying a word.  Gave it a shot.

I want to touch on 2 points you made so you and others may understand a bit better the gravity of the problems this game is facing.

1.  The banning of gold farming bots addresses only a small portion of the problems of botting.  The lists you speak of contain almost entirely that type of bot.  GM's are barely ever seen, and though i'm sure they appreciate your support, GM's have very limited capabilities and staffing to actively chase down the overwhelming amount of 3rd party use in the game.

2.  On the subject of the game being ruined by "hacking" that you mentioned, it is sparse and very seldomly seen.  Every game will have some sort of "hacking."  The best prevention of "hacking," as it has always has been, is to be observant and proactive in maintaining your accounts properly and characters.  For a game to be ruined by hacking would require someone to hack the game itself and do damage on a massive scale to interrupt gameplay for a very high percentage of users.

To new users of Silkroad, I will say this:

I played Silkroad for a little over a year, and like a previous poster, I had a character lvl 75+.  The game has good colorful graphics and is fun to play, especially once you reach the higher lvls (basically when you are no longer just a 1 hit kill).  The game features a very nice job system which adds much dynamic to the game, as well as a "no penalty pvp system" which allows players to test their abilities on one another simply by putting on a cape.  In my opinion, the game is well designed with the regular amount of flaws you would expect in regards to bugs, etc.  Silkroad is a game that is played by many different nationalities, so you will see many different languages used, but English is still what you will most commonly see spoken.  Usually when it comes to that, you can find a way to reach a mutual understanding.

But, be forwarned, there are some serious issues with the control and moderation of the game itself; most impactful is the botting problem.  Due to a lack of the development staff taking action and the shortcomings and lack of power of the Game Moderators, the game has become extremely over crowded due to a very widespread use of 3rd party programs (i.e. bots).  The bans are only tackling a portion of the problem, and knowing that most of the bots whose purpose are gold farming are remade shortly after bans, until extreme action is taken the game will continuously suffer from "log-in" issues as well.  Many others utilize bots for leveling their characters, so from the point of view of myself who played 100% legit, it can leave a very foul taste to know someone you are facing in battle "cheated" their way to their level because they were either too lazy or too incompetent to do it themselves.  This usage of botting also ties up servers due to the long durations in which they are online.  The game, like most other games from the region, is a grind, but it can be done with motivation and determination.

Silkroad Online has become perhaps a great example of how a really good and fun game with lots of longevity can lose all of it's appeal by not enforcing strictly it's EULA (that long text you agree to).  Moderation and enforcement is a very important factor in maintaining a great MMORPG, let us all thank Joymax for showing us how forgetting to keep a watchful eye on one's product can lead us all down a very nasty and ugly road of discontent for all those involved.

So to sum up my post and my experience to any new player interested in downloading the game, do some research into the game to be sure you are willing to handle the issues at hand with the game.  Read forums and check into sponsored sites for info regarding the current state of events.  Make your decision then, some still endure, but many more are already gone.
