An awesome game. Although not enough people play these days, however the dev's made the game extremely user friendly, and its not a complete grind fest. Not to mention theres full on storyline on the online version.

A genuinely fun game. The community isn't all that great, but the game is.

Having become totally addicted to this game after the expansion was released I wanted to boost this games user score. The state of the game now is that its hugely enjoyable.
I enjoy owning my own shop and stocking it with some of the many thousands of items or materials used to make the items.
Your own shop and room can be customised to your own taste and filled with many hundreds of different items you can either make or find during events or missions.
The missions themselves are also a lot of fun. Voice chat available in your room and shop and while in a party improves communication hugely, especially when communicating with your customers in your shop, never been able to actually barter with a live person using my voice before this game (not by juat walking into their shop and them being there anyway)
Anyway to sum up, fantastic game that looks great and plays smooth and has a huge amount of things to do. I love it :)

Well first of, I tried this game because i know PS got a huge fanbase around the world, and I wanted to see what its all about.. First impression is great. I like the graphic and the music is fine. You can customize your character in a billion of ways, thats nice. The community is very poor. Think it consist of many young people, because the game got many childish aspects (graphics, the look of characters, emotes etc.). I had lots of fun for about a week, but I dont think ill be coming back again. Tried several times asking other players for some guidence when I had some questions or needed help, but if I ever got any responce it was "No0B". Important information that I feel is essential to know before you sign up: There is no thing such as guilds, you dont have a free world to move within (everything is missions, you cannot move outside map path, you cannot choose skills when you level)... Well it might sound like I hated this game, but I actually had lots of fun soloing in a multiplayer world for a week.. Try it , you might like it (but not for long hehe ;) )

Dated graphics. Average sound. Awful community. Laggy movement of other players.
And the most major issue is the sheer lack of content for a monthly priced game. Make this game F2P and it'd be worth picking up. But for the monthly fee this game is lacking in any content what so ever.
It basically consists of doing the exact same "missions" over and over again because the devs didnt bother putting enough for each level. Therefore mission grinding is required. Not to forget the general gameplay involves smacking a button over and over and over again.
Stay well away if your an MMO fan. Pay the extra couple of £ and get a real MMO.

This is my first taste of anything Phantasy Star and I love it! I stayed away before because of reviews describing it as an incomplete gaming experience, but it must have filled out since then because it certainly feels like a complete game to me. Well worth the price in my opinion. And I highly recommend the new "expansion" Ambitions of the Illuminus which is actually stand alone. It has nearly everything from the first. Also it seems the game has been tweaked so new comers can level up quickly to about midlevel. This provides a little "catch up" I assume. Graphics look splendid on my old machine. Sound is satisfactory. Fair amount of people pseudo-roleplaying. I can’t speak for full blown role-playing since I don’t look for that. The community is decent. I’ve played MMOs that are just an ocean of kids and this is not one of those. Beyond the kiddy chatter at hot spots I found very helpful and considerate members. Not much lag at all through my connection. Haven’t had any reason to get in touch with customer service. I recommend doing some research before buying this game since it’s set up a little different than most. For example, there’s online and offline playing modes and PC/PS2 servers are separate from Xbox servers.

This game is a little bored, because it's poor in action.
