I started playing for PC for a little right when it was released and stopped but now thinking about coming back.

1. Has the expansion been worth and the game grown a lot since early release. I quit a little after moatoob came out, not because i didnt enjoy it mostly cause of school work.

2. I have a character i wanna continue on my PC account but i hear hacking is pretty bad, are these claims true? Should i play on 360. Are the 360 servers a lot smaller then the pc/ps2 servers because i'm a fan of bigger more populated servers then smaller ones.

Thanks :)

In my opinion the expansion has defenetly been a worthy addition to the game, you won't see any radical changes to the game play, but most of the fixes and added content is quite enjoyable.

There hadn't been any hacking in the PC servers like last year's, and Sega did refund the hacked players, and banned the offenders, also any new glitches are being dealt as time and resources permit.

As for the serever  choice, its really up to you, as both servers have steadly increased in population, but the 360 side has a lot more players at all times; sadly this increased population comes with an increased number of bad apples whose only joy is to ruin some one elses experience.

1. The game has so much more to offer now with the expansion. More missions with increased drop rates have been added, so you don't have to spend months trying to find that weapon you want. New job classes add variety to the game, with more to come in the future. There are 4 new weapon types in the expansion: Slicers, Whips, and 2 types of "mags" (one type fires lasers on its own, and the other lets you use technics faster than a wand.) Choose job classes according to your style of play and weapon preference.
In addition to these, there have also been improvements to the game. Now, you don't have to run through those boring missions to get to the one you want; you can automatically teleport to your destination via the CAST lady next to the Flyer Bases. A new system allows you to search player shops by item, rarity of item, cost, etc. Type in an item's name, and a list pops up with all of those items and their prices, with the cheapest right on top.

On top of this, there is an event coming out this Friday (4/25) called "Maximum Attack G," which features all of the PSO maps, clothes, and weapons! The population will receive a substantial boost; all of the players who have taken a break will be back for the event, so now is the perfect time to pick up your copy!

2. Where did you hear about the hacking? There was a small incident around New Year's on the PS2/PC side, but the hackers have been banned and the items have been returned to the players. Since then, the server has not had any problems with hacking.

The 360 server is more populated than the PS2/PC servers, but from what I hear and have experienced, the latter has friendlier people than the former. (I'm on PC, so if you decide to return, I can help you get started.)

All in all, I'd say go for it. There is so much more content now than there was at the time of release. The event will cause a population boost, so now is the perfect time to return.

I'm one the original players that played and quit right after hacking started.  I haven't been back since.  I just watched some Youtube clips of the Maximum Attack G.  Is that going to be a permanent feature that player will be able to do or is that just a temporary thing?

To tell you the truth, I'm still playing on PSO private servers because I still enjoy that game more than PSU.  Also does that Maximum Attack G let you go through all the PSO levels (exampe: Forest 1, Forest 2, and Dragon Boss?)

The mission "Maximum Attack G" (MAG) will stick around after the event is over; however, none of the bonuses will be applied. Also, badges will not drop from enemies/boxes.

MAG is like MA in PSO: You go through each level (Forest, Caves, Mines) and kill as many enemies as you can. (Ruins still has yet to be unlocked, but it will be eventually.) There is only one boss at the end (Dark Falz) which has yet to be unlocked at the moment. Sadly, there are no Forest "one" and Forest "two" missions, nor are the original monsters used (save for Forest, which use the PSU counterparts.)

If you are on the PS2/PC server, Uni2 has 4 stars at peak times; if you're on the 360, I believe Uni 1-3 are full at peak times (I may be wrong about this, since I'm on PC.)

I'd recommend coming back and trying it out if you are considering returning.

I agrre, it's a good time to try the game again, the only down side, is you are going to need the expansion to participate.

P.S. Xbox server have universes 1-4 full at peak times on weekends and universe 1-2 full during the weekdays.

I am considering going out and getting the game to start playing on the PC today as well. Do I need to track down the original game also or do I just need to find the expansion? I haven't played before and I'm confused as to if I'll be missing anything if I don't have the first cd vs. the expansion.

The only difference between the original release and the expansion, is the offline story mode. So there really is no need to get the original disc if you are going to be playing online.

As we enter our last week of the Maximum Attack G event, you still have time to get a huge xp boost, so make haste and join the festivities.

Actually, the event has been extended an additional two weeks due to many people getting "Error 065." This gives everyone more of a chance to get badges, EXP, and to get on the new leaderboard on May 22nd.
