The price for freedom is eternal vigilance

If you are thinking of subscribing to Dofus consider the following :

If you are an international player ( there are no servers for your specific country ) you will most likely not be able to join the international server.

If you cant join the international server with a free account, you also wont be able to do with a payed account.

So do not bother to subscribe, because that wont help.

If you are subscribed and send a ticket to support, then they will treat you as a non-subscribed player, another reason to no subscribe.

So I suggest not to subscribe until they get their act together.

Either way, there are no servers for my language ( dutch ) or region ( belgium ), they don't let me play on the international servers and when I send a report I have to wait days to get an answer.

They tell me I am part of the French community ( which I am not ) and let me wait another week before replying again to my reply ( telling them I am not part of the French community, and what I should do to change my status )

edit : I am still waiting on an answer, in total I lost 12 days of playtime already

Why I suggest you don't pay for this game.

First off let me say I love dofus it's a great game I would like to be playing it right now however

I Have 2 accounts on dofus 1 containing levels 114,71,56. another containing a 75, and a 74 both subscribed for 3 months each i wanted to delete the level 56 off my first account to remake it and reuse the name however i'd forgotten my "Secret Answer"

so i filled out a support ticket and 5 days later i received a response asking for proof that i am me "picture ID" so i sent them a scan of my DL with the important stuff marked out 5 days after this i get another response telling me to make a new email address that isnt linked to an ankama game account so i do this and send that to them 5 days later i login to my account (still no reply from support) play for about 30 minutes, come back later that afternoon to the message "your password is invalid" so i go to the website and try to recover it and recieve the message "your email address is invalid" i send a ticket to support and wait about 48 hours and recieve the response:

We have already replied to this question in another ticket, therefore this one will be closed.

For us to be more effective in our replies to players, please do NOT open several tickets for one single issue, BUT reply to the one which has already been sent. This way, we will clearly identify your problem and answer it precisely.

How do you reply to an existing ticket?

- Go to http://support.ankama.com
- On the homepage, click on "View my Tickets"
- In the ticket list, click on the title of the ticket you wish to reply to
- Click on "Reply" in the bottom right-hand corner
- Type your message and click on "Send"

Please make sure you do not reply to the address noreply@ankama.com. We only use this address to reply to your tickets.

Do not create new tickets at each of your replies but always reply to the same one, as long as they deal with the same issue.

Happy Gaming!

Regards,

Necros

mind you only one ticket was opened so this is impossible this is a generic response by a robot basically this is a slap in the face with a big middle finger saying we dont care we still have 2 months worth of subscription time from you. I personally will never again pay ankama another penny and I highly advise everyone to stay away from this scam company as good of a game as dofus may be

also accord to Wikipedia even though its not a reliable source the BBB has given Ankama a rating of unsatisfactory for failure to respond to customer problems

The problem Ankama has always had is they do not have the people to properly support their games in languages other than French. In the past (and maybe present too) they would use translations given by player volunteers and anyone that played in the earlier days of Dofus would remember all the Engrish (intentionally misspelled) in the game.

Their paid staff can have no to shaky English skills and then they figure "hey, let's add German and Spanish services too!" At that point they didn't even have one non-French GM, any GM that may come by would have iffy English or would just run around showing something off without saying anything at all. Yet they figure that they can then support the game in languages that differ a fair bit more from French than English does?

Look at the forums for their games. At least some paid staff on the French one and it looks like just volunteers for the most part on others. Then there's their new game in beta, Wakfu. The French one has staff starting official bug report threads and suggestion ones with said staff responding to posts and interacting. Over on the English side nothing of the sort. In fact they haven't bothered to even update the little blurbs telling people about down time and such for almost a month now while there have been several on the French one.
