great comments apart from not many people playing...just about every server is full if not highly populated, not sure if someone already mentioned this on another post, but thnx for the heads up on AoD  ,i will wait for the price to go down before i purchase..one more thing i must add ,the man was spot on when he said this game is underated, its damned awsome..i,m having a hell of a time in this game..also i agree about getting in a guild early, but not because of the reasons he suggested.this game has so much depth that i am lvl 40 grd and i still aint got a clue .i've only learnt about 10% of what i need to but i,m picking stuff up thru being in a guild, you can ask questions all day long and most guys a very helpfull

This was not the best update for eq2, with that said it is still probably the best pve mmo on market.

Dunno what game you're playing but EQ2 died shortly after launch thanx to WoW, so they dumbed the game down over the years in an effort to appeal to WoW players. The problem is very little effort went into each expansion, they always feel rushed and very featureless. I tried it again a few months ago and every server was dead, could never find any one to group with.

Just a sad depressing on it's last legs MMO and it failed. People who liked Everquest hated this game because it was nothing like what we wanted. Like SWG, AoC, WAR or LOTRO this has become a joke of the industry.

I only had a quick glance at what server he picked, but I think he picked one that wasn't very populated in the first place. :P  Hardly anyone uses the dungeon finder feature because some of the best places to level aren't the instances, but the contested zones themselves.  And everyone uses Level 1-9 chat or the different tiers of level chat for grouping on Antonia Bayle.

Finding a guild is important tho.   I'd agree with that one! :)

The EQ2 devs from the get-go said this "expansion" wasn't an expansion like those of the past but a "feature" pack, and is how they are going do future "expansions."  Content will come free with updates like the Freeport revamp.

I'd agree this is the best pve mmorpg out there.  The housing/dungeon maker, mentoring system, crafting, character appearances, myriads of mounts, and the many choices of character races & classes keep me very entertained!

Ok, not to knit pick here but imo this was a pretty poor review, first of all he complains about the UI, you can download completely remade UIs so who really cares? and tbh its mostly improved since the older UI and has alot more better addons by default that it used to have provided to the player.  Feels like an RPG? grinding less destressing? sorry, I dissagree, this game is alot like.. yeah, I'm gonna say it, WoW, yeah people say this about alot of games but this one in perticular is litterally like it, you do pointless grind again and again which I find mostly boring about any MMO.  Pointless quests that lack storyline feels alot less like an RPG to me.

What he says about custimization in the AoD dungeons isn't worded right really, "you can costumize everything right down to the torches" technically, no.  The meaning of costumization means you can change its entire look, you can only place them not change them.

He also comments about how the game changes are for the better, I strongly dissagree here, they've made EQ2 way too easy to solo and I dislike the changes perticually when they changed how stats work, personally I felt this was pointless and not so much like D&D like Sony had aimed to be with EQ2.  Being too solo friendly simply discourages team play even more and makes it feel less like an MMORPG.

Then he goes on to complain about its age in regards of its popularity in chat and groups, imo he's on the wrong server, Antonia Bayle has a massive ammount of players and so does Freeport (soon to be Bazaar).

The only thing I agree on mostly is his opinion on the latest expanion lacking features to even seem like an expanion, it isn't worth the $40 but since Sony has their triple SC events you can always get it for 66% reduction anyway *shrugs*

Don't get me wrong here I do really love EQ2 but imo this review was a bit poor, probably new to the game, who knows? I just feel it wasn't very accurate and perhaps a little exagerated.
