    • cool video, and ya.. i have a few lvl 70 chars on AB which is now nub that ROK came out lol.. but i know that with my necromancer and wizard i can keep targets rooted and kill them before they can even get to me.. more on the wizard though, But of course if you decide to over pull you wont be able to root all of em before the first timer expires.. in all ive played both games and i prefer EQ2 in almost anyway, one thing WoW has ill admit is flying mounts that are controllable atm which is sweet and WoWs PvP is more balanced other then that EQ2 just gives you that "real" feeling and really i cant even explain it, lol just gotta play it.. like they say, its where adventure comes alive

    • Hyperboy01- as far as ranged combat goes the casters get root and with single targets can indeed root and blast at range. Non-casters also get some skills which snare for short durations. My SO and I play together, her Warden roots one enemy (for the length of the battle) My Dirge snares one with a bow shot long enough for me to get a few debuffs into them before they ever get to us. I didn't like EQ2 when it came out but they've improved it 200%. It's the best MMO out there!

    • The EQ 2 Folks deserver alot of credit as does the game's community. EQ 2 isn't my cup of tea, but I know quite a bit about it and think it is a great thing.

    • "I just can't get over the fact that there is no distance combat unless you PvP. Unless I am missing something in the trial, everytime you hit with a ranged shot, the next thing you know they are right up in your face, and you can't escape them unless you break combat and run." "As for Ranged Combat you are missing a lot like root and snare spells, no you can't blas forever at range but you can't do that in WoW either" Have you guys played the game? Root and kill is the staple for several mage classes. Yes root might break sometimes which is why you reapply it occasionally.

    • To Hyperboy01: EQ1 is vastly different from EQ2 and really cannot and should not be compared. You should give the new game a try, combat is vastly improved (I know I disliked EQ1). Playing in the new lands I am so impressed with all the improvements, the character developments, the 3d Artwork not flat painted on armor. Its just amazing! They did the work didnt cut corners and Here I am 3 years happy. Good Job SOE, please continue to improve!

    • Hyperboy01 my point is that BC is more or less a slightly larger content patch that WoW players (Which I am one) had to wait years for and WotLK will probablky not see the shelves before 2009, this has nothing to do with quality production....as most stuff thier dev team has put out is basically a buggy mess. As for Ranged Combat you are missing a lot like root and snare spells, no you can't blas forever at range but you can't do that in WoW either.

    • "I feel for the WoW players that have to wait years for a single paid for patch." Don't get me wrong, WoW isn't as great as a ton of WoW players say, but waiting years for a paid for patch is very innacurate. yes, we had to pay for the expansion, but no, we don't have to pay for patches. There are two types of patches... content and maintenance. Content provides everything from new dungeons, new spells, or whatever. Maintenance patches just correct errors and balancing issues. Anyhow, while EQ 2 looks interesting, having played EQ, I just can't get over the fact that there is no distance combat unless you PvP. Unless I am missing something in the trial, everytime you hit with a ranged shot, the next thing you know they are right up in your face, and you can't escape them unless you break combat and run.

    • Player dedication...really shows with this game. It has gone through a lot...with major changes along the way. Since it's inception it has struggled, with SOE not being well liked due to their history with other games... But, you can tell EQ2 is their puppy...and I am pleased to be onboard such a wonderful game with a deep lore, wonderful visuals, great gameplay and an overall ambiance of maturity and grace.. CHEERS EQ2 for 3 years...glad you made it.

    • Hands down this is the best MMORPG out there. It may not have the most subscribers, but it does have a team that bust their collective asses to make a better expansion than the last. Three years four major expansion packs three Adventure mods, and a untold amount of free upgradeds. I feel for the WoW players that have to wait years for a single paid for patch.
