War of Zek Now Available
Everquest II players will want to head in game to update their clients with Update 61: War of Zek. Among other things, War of Zek includes dynamically scaling dungeons, a house rating system, a new dungeon and raid and much more.

SOE Authenticator Released
Sony Online Entertainment has released a keyring authenticator for $9.99. The authenticator functions with all SOE titles. According to the released information, a mobile authenticator is scheduled to be 'released soon'. Players can tie the authenticator to their Station Account.

Age of Discovery Bringing BIG Changes

Double XP Weekend Announced
Everquest II players will want to be sure to log into the game from Friday, July 29th to Sunday, July 31st to take advantage of what Sony Online Entertainment is calling a "true double XP weekend". Double experience can be gained in AA, tradeskill and adventure facets.

The Children of War Goes Live
Sony Online Entertainment has announced that Everquest 2 Update 60: The Children of War is now live on all servers. Update 60 brings several key PvP improvements including a new lobby system, a new map, a new PvP battle type and more. Also added are some raids and heroic dungeons.

The Children of War Announced
Sony Online Entertainment has announced the sixtieth update to Everquest II. Called "The Children of War", the update is scheduled to go live on May 17th. Devs also announced that from April 14-21, all inactive accounts will be reactivated to give former players a chance to log in and check out the changes since their last play session.

Early Bird Fan Faire Tickets On Sale
Sony Online Entertainment has announced that tickets for this year's Fan Faire in Las Vegas, Nevada are now available for early-bird pricing and purchase. The full event ticket can be purchased for $119 or single-day tickets are $39. Fan Faire will take place on July 7th to the 9th.

April Producer's Letter
Everquest II Producer Dave "SmokeJumper" Georgeson has penned the latest update letter on the official site. In it, Georgeson details the plans for Everquest II in 2011. Destiny of Velious owners, according to Georgeson, will be thrilled as the epic story "Age's End Prophecy, continues through regular content updates. Freeport will be seeing a major upgrade as well. Lastly, Georgeson talks about 'under the hood' improvements to EQII.

Mobile App Arrives
In another example of the interconnectedness between electronic devices and gamers, Sony Online Entertainment has released EQII Mobile for Everquest 2 players. The mobile app is available for iOS and Android devices in each one's respective app store. Players can use the app to participate in chat, check in-game mail, review character stats, access achievements, view the world map, and search for items.

Velious Collector's Edition Detailed
Sony Online Entertainment has begun taking pre-orders for the collector's edition of the upcoming Everquest 2 expansion, Destiny of Velious. The digital collector's edition features several exclusive perks including a Husky pet, a summer home, teleportation portraits and more. Destiny of Velious is scheduled to deploy on February 22nd. The CE is $59.99 for preorder but will go up to $89.99 on release day.
