Give an example of this.  I have yet to see this happen unless its seasonal fun zones, temporary world events, etc.

  To much raid laggg.

Fix your settings or tweak your computer.  Most people do this and have no problems.

Tradeskilling, Now why would you want to sit for 2 hours crafting something. BORING

To make in game cash...So they should take TS out of all games, since they all have them?

  Bad customer support from SOE/eq2

Name a game what doesn't have bad CS

Necros need to spend 10x the amount to buy spells.

Tankers need to spend 10X amount for armour.

10X the amount of what?

  Casters die in one 1.

My caster does not die in 1.  He takes several hits from higher mobs and is still breathing.  Learn to build a caster or perhaps learn to play it properly.  Each has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Everyone seems to assume that SOE is a terrible company because of what they did to SWG.  But to be honest, SOE's other games seems to be doing well.  But people being people, just like to moan. ^^

Well, maybe SOE's other games are doing well.

Not that I'll ever know, since I wouldn't spend a dime *ever* on anything SOE makes after the SWG NGE crap-fest.

It's too bad, because I would have given Vanguard a try perhaps. Not a chance now though.

No, it's not "my loss". It's SOE's loss - they lose any potential income from my wife or I, and we are both rabid MMO's players. So ultimately SOE loses probably several hundred dollars that we would have spent on their games ( we had three accounts for SWG for almost three years before we cancelled, you add up the cost   ) And there are thousands, probably ten's of thousands of gamers that are doing the same thing that I'm doing. SOE cost themselves hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost income and millions of dollars in bad publicity with gamers everywhere.

When a company is so disliked by so many players that they need their own "hate" thread on a major MMORPG site, that really says something. And it's not good.

My loss was losing multiple characters that I'd worked for years on, which were destroyed by their ill though-out NGE.

So get your "losses" straight, ok?

Every game has own haters and lovers. Especialy when that company make big decission which isnt accepted by all players. Imo its more brave and strange to do so. I dont know the situation with SWG, but SOE seems to me as a company with the best MMO games on market.
You are absolutly right, that decisons and errors made by SOE cost a lot of players, but taking something personaly if we are talking about company isnt right way imo. If you enjoy game (at least for some time) you should give them a secon chance (esspecialy if you dont know the background of the wierd situation).
And finally its also your loss if u miss the best games only because u "hate" company or something

Well put. I am and have been a fan of the MMO genre since the original everquest and have seen this market change and grow over the years. Yes SWG was a debacle that should never be repeated again, and other MMO developers/publishers should take note of SOE's mistake so as to make sure such a grievous error  is never made again. But to condemn a whole company for the failure of one out of many of it's products is just insane, and ignorant. Not to mention, just about every game SOE is involved with is developed and maintained by other developers.

I am a huge fan of World Of Warcraft, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have its share of flaws, just like any other man-made construction, nothing is perfect, nor will it ever be. I also play Everquest 2 frequently, so I am on both sides of the fence, no bias to be found here. I noticed a lot (not all mind you) of the people flaming this forum about SOE are in fact wow players, and we all know what transpires on a forum for a competeing game, when biased opinions created by a love for a certain game (or hatred for another), are posted on said forum. Flames shall ensue.

There is nothing wrong with having an opinion about a company or it's product/products. But when your opinion is used to anger or belittle others who support/play said company's product/products, that is just plain ignorant and wrong. There's a saying that states "To each, his own", there's a reason for the existence of that saying. What you may find tedious, boring, or unplayable, may just be your neighbors favorite pastime. So, in conclusion, I understand if someone has a bad experience with a game and wants to share his/her opinion on it, by all means speak your mind, but is denouncing  a whole company for eternity, and publically scolding the ones who do enjoy it absolutely necessary?

I like when people come in a thread labled something like ................... The Official " We're Angry at SOE " thread ................... and fight the people that are, surprise suprise ..................... angry with SOE.

This basically gives free roam to the people angry with SOE and thier games to go in the " we're happy with SOE" threads and these people cant defend the stay on topic line.

Any way i see people come in here that have played a "single" SoE game for hmm a month, alot still on trial run praising the said game.  Understand these people probally haven't had thier class changed many times, been through horrible gameplay, ect.  Alot are even new to MMO's altogether and just dont know any better.  This is fine of corse they can be happy with ignorance till they learn through out the games life, if they dont jump to the new hyped product.

We also have people here that make the " cash dollar " for pushing buy this SOE product either through thier " fansite ", posting on rating boards such as ebgames and the other junked up rating systems, and some do it becuase they are truely fanatical about the game.  Now there are those that have played the game for a long time and enjoy it ................... there isnt many left for eq2 though.

I cannot say any game company is truely about making a fun game.  The people i have met from SOE that had anything to actually do with building the game and not PR were either about the profits or they got a job and nuff said.  You will see some of them joke and play on the forums from time to time ................. who are these people though PR people maybe?  Well this guys name says designer, designer of what?  My current company has people with titles that do not say what they really do, we have quite a few vice presidents but only one that is a true vp.

I went to eq's site today to look at their new forums.  They redesigned it to their in house design and running.  Funny enough any post that i spoke of soloing topics ................. disapeared ........... although other post before and after these vanished post still exist.  My favorite post where i caught mr scott hartsmen in a blatent lie about eq2 also poofed .................. interesting ........ what is reall interesting is how they chose to redesign the forums after the rants cooled down ............ ie people quit, alot of people quit.

And this for mr scott hartsman .............. i never said your game was better with eof, i said it was heading in the right direction ........... basically simply put for you, it is not there yet.  This is the producer of eq2, basically one of the main decision makers for eq2 .......... you dont like something this is who you want to complain to ................ i would advise getting the community behind you first, you will get his and others attention alot quicker.  Now to tell the truth i havent a clue if he still has his job, i know moorgard left/quit/fired/whatever who had a designer title and was pro raider.  and ive seen a few new names amongst the design team so looks like some people going bye bye and others coming in.  I havent researched this so i leave that to any one who actually cares.

Ill stop with this since i really dont feel like typing a novel tonight ............. In my closing note i will leave with one final thought.  What is it most of you really seek when coming to a forum of a game?  I will tell you now reading through many game forums over the years you will not know if you hate or love a game by reading someone elses opinions.  All you can get is the facts, that all you can use as a prepurchasing decision other then trial run ( which are also decieving in there design).  These same facts you seek can be found on the game box and can save yourself alot time reading bs. But maybe that is the game, having verbal fights with each other ............ then eq2, wow, and most other new mmo's are perfect for ya cuase thats pretty much what they have all turned into.

Have fun repeating the instance a million times, have fun listening to immature serverwide chat spam, have fun watching your class change, have fun watching your server merge from dwindling population becuase of the earlier problems, and see you all in the next game im sure =)

I've rejoined the Everquest 2 Community after a year of absence and already I seen the destruction with their new content... it's really sad how a lot of people(including me now) are paying for such poor quality of gaming. Agreed that SWG was an awesome game until they had to unbalance the game once more. I pray that SOE finds some good in making games for the fun of it, instead of for cash farming... these "expansions" and "new content" are just more money out of my pocket to continue a depressing journey

Why are you blaming SOE for what was mainly a Lucas Arts fiasco?

The statements made by Nancy MacIntyre, the game's senior director, at LucasArts to the New York Times illustrates the huge shift in thinking from Koster's original philosophy to this "retooled" franchise:

We really just needed to make the game a lot more accessible to a much broader player base. There was lots of reading, much too much, in the game. There was a lot of wandering around learning about different abilities. We really needed to give people the experience of being Han Solo or Luke Skywalker rather than being Uncle Owen, the moisture farmer. We wanted more instant gratification: kill, get treasure, repeat. We needed to give people more of an opportunity to be a part of what they have seen in the movies rather than something they had created themselves.

MacIntyre's comments represent a classic set of mistakes in thinking about how to build a fan community around a property....

SOE has many many problems.

For starters:  GM response time to reports made about Horrible players that should be banned for sheer annoyance factors.
Example: you are killing a critter, someone takes their character gets in your face jumps up and down in front of you while you are trying to kill the critter and starts swearing just because they are immature.  Response time for GM on this... doesnt happen. (waited a hr with this moron doing this and me reporting every 5 min.. nothing.  It didn't stop me from killing the creatures but it does get beyond annoying.  I dont see why I have to be chased offline because of someone else being an idiot.

SOE petitioning.
Dont know what they have done in regards to this but it is now near impossible to petition anything.  you have to go offline.. to their website and then you play ring around the rosey with their darned pages trying to find the actual petition sheet.  and IF you are lucky and get the petition files.. you might get an in game response in about 6 hrs.  MIGHT

SOE's lack of wanting to make their games Cross-platform.  Yes I am still going on about this.  other games have no problem making their games available to Mac users (WOW, NWN).  What the heck is SOE's problem with Mac people???  They initially stated that EQ2 would be fantastic with the new (at the time) mac graphics.. then they take it back and state that they will never make a mac version of their new games.  I mean what happened did Steve Jobs fill their christmas stockings with coal or something?  Dont understand the Mac hatred they have.

Those are my beefs with SOE

That makes me sick!

UbiSoft - a European game company - did the translation. Perhaps you should talk to them.

That one is really kind of silly.

Of the thousands of games out there, less than 1% have Mac versions. But that makes SOE the bad guys.

It sounds silly I admit, but I do love the game and I am frustrated when my friends cannot play what I love because of cross platform issues.  Apparently I must live in an area of New England where most are mac users versus pc.  Go fig.

But seriously, my complaint is that they (SOE) MADE the statement initially that the game would be excellent with macs.  So my beef was why the change of heart??  What suddenly changed to make them retract their own statement about Macs?  I have talked to some of the creators in live forums and their basic response was and I quote "NO COMMENT"
