Mind what people do, not only what they say, for deeds will betray a lie. |
I have surfed the Official forum and this forum for an answer to this question and the only think I found was that it cost $80 plus $15 for monthly sub. Is this the correct price for a new player wanting to unlock all content from release to current expansion? Confirmation is all I need and then this thread can be buried! Thanks in advance! "People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool." |

That sounds about right, if you are not about saving money. One of the best ways to get EQ2 for less is to get the x-packs when they are doing 2x or 3x points and get your SC points cards from wal-mart (wal-mart point cards add an extra 500 points witch is also 2x'ed or 3x'ed), thats what I did and got a year for $45. |

Originally posted by 77lolmac77 I was just curious how much of an investment it would be. I would of course play the trial until i get to the point where I can't progress anymore. Which I do with all games that offer a trial. There is so much hype about this game i figured there has to be something people enjoy about it. First time I tried it I really didn't get past the first map cause the graphics looked sooo sub-par. After watching all the videos on it though, it must just be the starting zone that is horrid. Sentinels Fate is already given to all players for FREE DOV is 30.00 on the Station Store or amazon http://www.amazon.com/EverQuest-II-Destiny-Velious-Pc/dp/B003O6EG8E
AOD is 40.00 on the Station Store or 32.00 on amazon http://www.amazon.com/EverQuest-II-Age-Discovery-Download/dp/B006GV6HE0
take note, DOV offers nothing to anyone under level 85 AOD offers no content -- but will need it if you want to play a Beastlord or use mercenaries

Spelling and grammar do matter. I find your lack of real-life skills disturbing. |

Originally posted by ForumTroll I suppose it depends on what you mean by "all content". Just start paying a sub and you effectively have everything up to the most recent previous expansion. Buy the current AOD expansion (regular is fine, you don't need the collector's edition), and you have access to all classes and mercenaries. (Mencenaries are great. I got one for a little extra DPS, and haven't died since in the areas that used to chew me up. Going from solo to duo is a BIG difference.) You still won't have all the races: Freeblood is cash-shop only (with a small exception that doesn't apply to a new player). You may still be missing some items that only came from actually buying certain expansions (no big deal, really). And you will also lack some things only given to subscribers whose accounts were active during certain specific periods, like early last year leading up to the launch of the last expansion. And there were some limited-time freebies from the cash shop. |

DoV is now $ 19,99 on the Station Cash store, but I agree not needed until you are 86. The Silver membership $ 5 is quite enough to the early 70s, then you may want to buy broker unlockers and equipment unlockers neither of them are very expensive. But if you want EVERYTHING it is better to subscribe. Chi puo dir com'egli arde é in picciol fuoco. He who can describe the flame does not burn. Petrarca |

what's the main difference between silver and subscriber?
can't a silver technically have the same features as gold if they unlock enough? i.e. choose the race/class you really want, unlock those unlock master spells when you get them unlock item slots when you get them etc...
and if so, how much would that cost I wonder? because in a sense, you save money on the monthly subscription then |

yes you need to buy both AOD and DOV to have everything
AOD is the newest stand alone expansion - does not include past expansions
DOV includes all past expansions (but all past expansions are free to everyone anyhow) |
