Hello out there.  So, I tried out everquest 2 extended.   At first I thought it was ok, but eventually fell in love with the game.  After playing many of the popular games out there I haven't found any to be this casual friendly, yet deep at the same time.  I'm definitely going to sub, but have found that I might be better off buying the latest expansion which includes all the previous ones before it, PLUS a month of free play as long as I open a new account.  Only problem is, I'm not sure if the other servers are as populated as Freeport is;  I'm definitely running into a lot of players on the Freeport server.  I'm also progressing my character very well and so far haven't spent a dime.  (I even have quite a bit of decor I built inside my home, and four pets.)  I'm anxious to use the auction though, and to make some money.  Anyone think I'm better off abandoning my current character on freeport and buy the game as a live player?  Or just suffer the minor irritations of subbing with a little less than a live player would get at the same cost?  Thanks.  Appreciate any input.

I think the game allows for transferring of toons from the free servers to the live servers with a subscription purchase. When I played Crushbone was pretty well populated.

Gaming since Avalon Hill was making board games.

Looking forward to TSW, WoD and Copernicus.
Played SWG, EVE, Fallen Earth, LOTRO, Rift, Vanguard, WoW
Tried Aoc, Aion, EQII, RoM, Vindictus, Darkfail, DDO, GW, PotBS

As long as you have no problems on the Freeport server why would you leave. I have an account on AB and reactivate it once in awhile. When ever I roll a new alt I am usually in empty zones. Sure, EQII has the mentoring system, but it's no replacement for active zones.

Good luck on you new game.  :)

The transfer to normal servers costs $30 I believe. Unless you're maxed out in level, or close to it... I wouldn't bother.

I would however get the collectors edition of Sentinels Fate on the cheap. Free 65% mount with every character you make through that CE. That in itself will save you hours of cash grinding and running everywhere beforehand.

The game's worth the monthly fee.

If something pops up and you can't play for a month, you can always go to a three day spurt of subscription for $5.

Antonia Bayle is the largest server in the game. I really strongly suggest all new players go there for a good experience with grouping, etc.
