Edit: Does that link include stuff from both EQ1 and EQ2? It's a little confusing lol. None the less, I can't wait till the expansion. I thought it'd be out in november of this year though, like they have been doing.:( Edit part deux: Ahh ok, it's all of SOE. I'm with it now. I'm down. I'm hip. About time the good side got some lovin'. I was beginning to think EQ2 only wanted their players to play on the evil side. |

The good side definately needs more attention, more good only classes, and races and such. Evil's ahead by a few races I think. |

summarized at ZAM ODUS! Details are sketchy at the moment, but the expansion will explore Odus, what happened to it, and the lore lines of Kerra and Erudites. The level cap will be raised to 90, with more Achievement Points available to put into expanded AP trees. Sentinel's Fate is planned for a February 2010 release date. All Fan Faire attendees will get Beta access and a free digital copy. Planned for release at the same time as the expansion will be a new starting city: Halas. EQII is now on a three month Game Update cycle. GU53 will feature auto-mentoring, where one can down-tier one's character without mentoring another toon. This will allow players to explore grey content for experience and achievement points. GU53 will also open up the Shard of Love, where players might discover the fate of Erollisi Marr. In LoN News, the final set of the Ethernaut saga, Stormbreak, is scheduled to be released in July. And in Station Cash news, Character Transfers will soon be available via the Station Marketplace. You'll be able to get your transfer for $25 worth of Station Cash.

If they keep putting in new starting locations along side all the empty servers there are then new players will never have a chance to group with people to do content. What they need to be doing is making two servers and then making multiple instances of each zone when one is full up and streamlining the new player experience so you're more likely to group and bump into eachother, rather than soloing throughout the game. I see the level cap another problem for new players making it so they have to go even further through the game mostly on their own and making the world even bigger. |

regarding new players, even if there were was no level increase, all OLD mmos are top level heavy
on bright side, GU53 is expected in September
the update will allow players to scale their level *down* without having to mentor someone else to anything from 1 to 79 (assuming they are 80)
that may help to see more people in lower level zones |

I've played almost every class in the game, and had fun with just about all of them. So, I dunno about all the crap classes you're talking about there. They're really no different from the classes in any other standard mmo that is out these days. The servers as well, are not empty, I see the server list as either on medium population, or with the bottom two on high population. There are an abundant amount of guilds that are new player friendly, ready to take someone in, and help them quest. I've been with my guild Tempting Fate since I started playing EQ2. I got an invite while I was at queens colony on my first day, and I've had guidance in both getting financially stable, as well as geared from them since day one, and I'm sure they're not the only guild who looks after their members like this. We raid and do seperate group quests almost daily, so none of us ever feel alone. Cracking up in Voice Chat also helps with this, as well as building friendships, so you're more likely to get group and raid offers more often. There are so many guilds in EQ2 I don't know how someone can have trouble grouping in that game. At least on the server of Befallen, this all rings true, because I have never had a problem with running into people. I see players in every zone I go into, and if I need help on a quest, it's almost guaranteed, a guild member will be on their way. As for the level cap, there are also an insane amount of ways to earn xp in this game. Collection turn in's yield adventure xp, xp+ potions, you can either buy, or /claim for free throughout your time leveling. Vitality for those who play casually, and then there are HQ's, and Raids, where not only do you get decent xp, but you get great loot, and TONS of AA to help your character become more powerful, and thus level faster, from faster mob killing. It sounds to me, that you're either in a guild that doesn't help its members much, or not in a guild at all, and I would suggest finding one that does help its members a lot. Finding one where you get a long with its members, and can actually become somewhat of friends with them will go a long way. You get high level friends in a guild, you're practically golden. If you need something like what I posted above, I suggest going on the Befallen server, and joining the guild Tempting Fate. They take all classes, and levels, and are very helpful people. |

GU53 will include automentoring, achievement system, and shard of love. GU54 ? GU55 will include new city and starting area, Halas & first 20 levels. Will be the best starting area yet. Due in Feb around time of the expansion release. Expansion will include Odus I have read it includes a lvl 90 cap and more AA although I didn't hear that in the presentation. Today more details of the expansion will be discussed in the eq2 panel. They did mention several zones that will be in the expansion, Toxxila Forest, Stoneburnt Mountains, Paineel, The Hole. They also showed a video with a flyby though one of the new dungeon and what looked like some outdoor areas and caves. |

more info from last night seen at this blog GU53 will have a new four group raid zone and it will have each encounter with a difficulty slider. In other words, if you fight 10 bosses in the zone, you can dial them in from easy to nightmare mode with difficulty and loot adjusted accordingly. The scripts will be different on each level of difficulty. Expect this for all future raids.

*sighs* Getting tired of hearing this "its all empty servers" bull. Will you haters knock it off already? If it was that bad, EQ2 wouldn't consistantly be on the main page on this site as a favorite every single week. My website is closed temporarily. Hopefully it will only be a short delay. |

I love what the new expansion will seem to bring. However I am very disappointed we have to wait until Fed. 2010. |
